Agreed, Basking. I may at times use the local dialect while speaking, but when I write something out I use proper English.

Wordy, speech is one thing. But writing is another. While every region has its dialects, the educated people of those regions don't write it out on paper.

Chicago Standard English is difficult to learn up here. It's not spoken here even by "educated" folks.

What fascinates me is the use of the diphthong to indicate the size of an object and the use of double positives.

It's easy to stereotype folks who speak in the manner, but if you want standard English speakers, that's a minority of the Country. New Englanders don't use Chicago Standard, English Canadians add a vowel to the end of many sentences with rising intonation. Folks from SE NC and NE SC are nearly unintelligible along with folks in Louisiana. Spend some time in Staten Island and you wont hear CSE.
