Thanks for the update Lonnie.
Good story Uncon. Be sure to share with his son and family.
This was a most unfortunate accident, a tragedy for all. Prayers for both families.

JOURNAL STAFF AND WIRE REPORT Published: June 6, 2010 JEFFERSON -- A Crumpler man died Friday in a head-on collision involving his Dodge truck and a flat-bed truck. Travis Wayne Miller, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which happened at 12:20 p.m. on Wade Bear Road outside Jefferson, according to Trooper R.K. Aldridge. There was a thunderstorm at the time of the crash. Aldridge said that Howard Wayne Barker of Lansing, the driver of the flat-bed truck, turned into a right-hand curve on Wade Bear. He was going left of the center line when the collision occurred. Barker was not injured, the trooper said, and charges are pending against him. He said that although Barker was not driving over the speed limit, it may have been too fast for the road conditions.

Travis was a fine young man, always so kind to everyone. I saw him during the Memorial Day Services at Ashelawn. He was always so helpful with helping to hand dig some family members graves when equipment was not able to get to the site.
May God look after his young wife and child. Also may god help mom, dad and his sister help heal their broken hearts.
The Barker family is suffering too, may God help heal their anguish of this horrific accident.
Travis...Gods Speed!

Deepest Sympathy to the Miller family and to Travis' friends and fellow workers.
To those that attended the Memorial Day ceremony at Ashelawn, Travis was the first person helping direct parking not far from the entrance. He was standing there with an umbrella with a smile on his face, when the rain was coming down in buckets. He was soaked. I rolled down my window to ask a few questions about parking, and where some groups were meeting. He was so kind and helpful, and kept on smiling. I told him I had never seen anyone enjoy a rainstorm like he was, and I told him I was sorry that he was stuck working in such a downpour. He just laughed, and said he enjoyed it. He was in his element, and I am going to guess that this young man was happiest just being outdoors, no matter what the weather.
I mentioned how kind he was to Josh Roten after the service, and how he seemed to love standing in the rain.
This is a tragic loss to this community of a wonderful young man.
