I truly think had Bucket not returned to the sheriffs office when bufurt was removed he would well be sheriff today. Going back into that nasty hornets nest I believe cost him.

I think she is upset that the same monster that destroyed Buchanan and got him out of office was the same one that ate Bucky. She is having a hard time with the lesson that when you turn the monster lose to destroy a bigger evil, the monster isn’t going to return to its cage at a simple command.

The fact that this year that the 30 year incumbent who served as chief deputy for two loved sheriffs and had been running everything for years lost his run for the top job proves things have changed

In fact......when did Ashe last elect anyone to one of the working jobs against an incumbent? Clerk? Register? Sherriff? These folks work 5 days a week. Sometimes 6 or 7. I think few people who run for office are interested in that type of commitment in today's world.

Funny how you’ve changed your tune since this site got Bufurt run off and then your corrupt candidate didn’t win. When Bufurt supporters claimed no one cared about this site, you argued bitterly that they were completely wrong. Now your partisanship is showing again.

I never said we could change how long the term of the sheriff is. But we don’t have to wait 4 years to see if he makes changes before doing anything. He has 60 days to show us he’s making an effort. The people pay attention to the information on this site. It was even funny during the campaigns when candidates were caught repeating phrases and wordings that were first coined here. It could be a long 4 years for an official if we want it to be.
