Whichever one you vote for remember this, either would be a 1000% improvement over the waste of skin Buchanan that we were dealing with a few months ago. As far as the politics go for sheriff who cares if it is a D or R? We're not confirming judges to the Supreme Court or dealing with North Korea here. We're talking about who runs a rural sheriff's office. Whatever your reason for voting for or against either, try to elevate it above a party label and make a decision based on who you think is best for the county.

Tabs, you may want to take a look at this link...

Forget which party you belong too. Read the news article above and ask yourself if a smart person would vote for a Sheriff that supports this kind of conduct.

Nope. Is a violation of the law for personal gain by individuals sworn to uphold the law. That’s hardly petty.

And worrying about an inmate painting a chair isn't petty?

Because it’s all a joke trying to inflate some small time petty criminals like they are some kingpins.

Why no mention of the positive things going on at the ACSO, like the drug dealers and traffickers they took off the streets last week?

One of you Bucky supporters let him know that photos of the corrupt jailer under him is coming. He might want to bend over and start stretching.

§ 162-22. Custody of jail.
"The sheriff shall have the care and custody of the jail in his county; and shall be, or appoint, the keeper thereof..."
Who Bucky appointed to be the jail keeper was a mistake and despite her conduct, Bucky refuses to remove her from the position. Arrogance on his part..
Although there were 'rumors' about the toothless one - material facts started appearing.. i.e., recently named in a civil lawsuit... where she had inmates do favors for her (paint chairs) possibly in exchange for inmates being allowed to smoke, use County internet, have phones, cameras and ipods.
I've heard so many people..myself included. Not voting for Bucky because of his poor judgement in who he appointed to head the jail. A Sheriff is only as good as the people who work with him. i.e., Buchanan & Rick Clayton.
I feel better voting for Howell. Both him and his running mate are good guys who will do a good job. They won't appoint anyone to head the jail that is surrounded with lawsuits or controversy. It's bad for the Office, the department and it's definitely bad for the County's image as a whole.

The proof substantiates the truth in the lawsuit. It shows without a doubt how above the law the whole gang was. Even under williams.
The pitiful thing about the gang that came on this site wanting a change is they didnt have the balls to cite what the problems were at the jail under williams and bucket. They only wanted to use politics.

Just who is this infamous 'toothless one'? (I'm sure there are things that toothlessness could facilitate, but how is it useful in a jailhouse setting?)

The issues have not been fixed. And they won’t be fixed as long as the toothless one is in charge. Proof is coming

Flame you stated that the issues at the jail had been fixed under Hartley. What makes you think that Bucket or Howell will keep the jail running as it should?
Has the Shatley suit ever been settled?

Change in the jail under Buchanan was what landed us with ipads in the jail, inmates ordering wings and pizza and given free reign in the jail and on the grounds. These issues have been fixed under Hartley. Change also got us a big lawsuit when one of the jailers that tried to expose the issues was arrested and then the charges dismissed. Change, no thank you. I want stability and a level head - Absher.

A vote for Bucky would be a vote for the toothless one. Unless Bucky changes the jail, I will not be vote for Bucky. A lot of people feel this way.

Keep the majority we now have and let the chips fall where they will on the third commissioner. They can sit on their hands like Perry or not attend like Rose. Frankly I would love to see how they are meeting behind closed doors.
