Sassy, you had no complaints about this site when it was bashing Buchanan and fighting the fight to get him out of office. But now that your good ole boy isn’t the favored choice here, your attitude has completely turned. You’ve become quite the hypocrite blinded by party affiliation.

Well this site might not be perfect but I think it is great to discuss the candidates and what is going on with them. The political issues are very important this year. It is not for the faint hearted. For example, Sassy is fading fast. She’s is just over in the corner mumbling. I was just wondering what Fins feels about the Sheriffs race at this point. Do you think it is getting stronger or weaker for Howell?

Fresh ideas and "change" was what landed us with the Buchanan mess so no thank you. I'll stick with the candidate that I know and trust who has experience, a level head and professionalism - ABSHER.

Tabs, Pokey said “ B Phil has never been a democrat”, and he is right as far as I know. When you sugggested “he couldn’t have been a Republican” you appeared to back up Justices false claim that Phil was a democrat last year. You never mentioned the fact that he could have been unaffiliated and voted with a democrat ballot in a primary for any number of legitimate reasons.

Either way we agree that he should not be ashamed of being a Republican who voted for a democrat. You vote for the right person. I’m a lifelong democrat and I’ll be voting for Phil. My whole family of mostly Democrats were just talking about how we are voting for Phil because we need to blow the dust out of that place with some fresh ideas.

I don't give a crap how he voted either, I myself vote for candidates from BOTH parties. My response was to Pokey who said to look at the records and that is what I did. Tabs I don’t know if B Phil ever voted in a democratic primary or not and I don’t care. The man is clearly a Republican but maybe he was registered as unaffiliated because he was working for a democrat Sheriff at the time. That’s what I’m saying. Again, I don’t know or care but I won’t sit here and watch a rumor spread about an obviously conservative guy.

You and Justice suggesting that if he did happen to vote in a democratic primary once that that means he was a democrat is such an obvious lie and it’s obvious why you’d come in here and try to spread a rumor. Or maybe you two just didn’t know about open primary system. Either way, take that fake rumor somewhere else.

Nothing I said was false. Are you saying that as a Republican he choose the Democrat ballot in the primaries to strategically vote for a weaker opponent to make the general election easier for his party? Why not just say he was unaffiliated and decided his views were more inline with Republicans so he changed his voter registration?

Tabs and Justice you need to be more responsible. This is how false rumors get started (and maybe that’s your intention).

In an effort to stay out of drama with their employer MANY MANY MANY smart sheriff’s deputies and Sheriff office employees across the country chose to be registered as “unaffiliated” voters, and in NC we have “open primaries” which means that if he was registered “unaflitated” or “independendant” he could vote in EITHER PRIMARY. You just tell them which ballot you want when you walk in to vote that day. They’ll only give you one.

Sometimes, the only competitive races in the primary are the other party or you have a friend running in the other primary so even if you’re a Republican who is registered as “unaffiliated” (to keep your job as a detective, appear neutral when testifying in cases, or just stay out of the drama every four years) you can CHOOSE to vote in either primary as “unaffiliated”.

Also “unaffiliated” voters here in Ashe almost equal Republican voters. It’s not uncommon. Don’t spread lies. He’s a Republican.. I mean, the man owns a gun training business. You really think he’s a democrat? H was probably just smart enough to register as unaffiliated when he went to work under and elected Democrat.

As I said last month...... The foolishness we will see this month....October.....and have to sift through. Vote for the people you know, trust, and grew up with......regardless of what is posted on this site. Most of the postings here are beyond credibility. In the end, you can only trust the ones you grew up with and are kin too.

I'm not sure why you are referring to me as DL Alby but I had other commitments that prevented me from attending. I would have been interested in seeing what Brandon had to say. I could care less about Jordan though.
