You did notice that Ax claims to work there now?

I find it very hard to believe anyone who works at the ACSO would be DUMB enough to say the things GoAxed says about the current administration. Plus so much of what she says is very inaccurate......more likely just trying to stir the pot.

I understand cross training is common. But from all the stuff Ive read and watched, cross training for drugs and explosives is not common or considered a good idea. Dogs trained for hunting drugs are trained to be more aggressive in their search. Explosive dogs are trained to move cautiously so to not set off a bomb. You cant train a dog to change up how they search on command.

Ive never heard of a dog being cross trained for drugs and explosives. Drug dogs search with an aggressive style and would most likely get themselves blown up searching a bomb.

If you were to go on the internet. and read up on training police K-9 dogs, you would find that cross training is very common. Customs and Border Protection dogs are trained to find foodstuff, explosives, and drugs. For food, they stand with their nose on the bag or box. For explosives they sit, and for drugs they generally give an excited response. Their dogs at airports, train stations and piers for large boats however, will not chase down or track a suspect.

BTW, heres why dogs should not be used as probable cause

Now we know where you get your information Ax. You're a left over bufurt lover they Hartley overlooked?

The dog UNTRAINED cost $5000. Then the dog spent the next 6 weeks being trained, imprinted for drugs, and obedience. I work for ACSO and I was working there when they bought the dog in 2016. They paid the handler to receive his certification from the SBI academy.
There isn't anyone who works here now that holds their K9 handler certification.

Axed, I don't know where you got your figures from. A single purpose drug dog, with certification can be had from $2500 to $7500. ACSO originally bought the dog, with certification for $5000. If you want a dog for patrol, tracking, drug and explosive detection, then you are talking $10,000 to $15000.

$1500 to retrain a K9? I would like to know who Hartley got a quote from. The average cost to train a K9 is $11,000.
Hartley must still be relying on information from the 80's.
How can they pay an officer to stay out of town for 6 weeks to attend training, to receive the certification for $1500.
Talk about spreading lies! Sounds like Hartley is the one printing lies in the press.

Yes......all my fault.....I got my boards and officers mixed up. Wildlife board member. Elections Chairman. Lunatic SOB. I will try to keep things straight in the future.

Isn’t the chairman of the board of elections an officer for the wildlife club?

NSA Troll

I hope so the wildlife club doesn't have a chairman.

I believe Sassy is referring to the chairman of the party.

I bet they have a hard time either way. Why would anyone want to donate time or money to a dept. that doesn't want a dog to begin with.

The Wildlife Club??? What dog do they have in this race (pun intended). And who is their president?

If Mickey gets the dog for less then its value then the sheriffs office will play hale getting donations for another hound dog.

When the county (years from now) figures out how much Bufurt costs us, this dog will be a tiny drop in the bucket. Sources tell me that Perry, Rose, and the chairman of the wildlife club are backing Mochen for Sherriff. They backed Bufurt. We can not afford their type of lunacy.
