Not one of you have named a specific problem or illegal act in the school system. Your only complaints are with the superintendent, her daughter, and now her grandchildrens school assignment and school teacher. I hate it but her job does have perks and I would use them too.

You should be equally worried with the perpetual members of the bremco board. Look at their ages and what they control. Second highest paid ceo in the industry of electric co-ops.

Mr Johnson and Dr Holden are in their 50s which is young compared to Mrs Jones (78), T Williams (late 60s) and K McClure (late 60s)

If this county really wants the school sys to be successful and prepare the kids for the future - it cannot continue down the same path with the same older views

Several of you act like you are so good yet you post lies all the time. You don’t know half of this stuff for the truth, yet, post all the time as if you were right there. Jesus didn’t spend his time with the priests, but with the real people. All the board members, teachers and principals have faults, and you don’t. This sight doesn’t always post the truth. Why are some names .... and others allowed to be posted?

I love when people get on here and
make up user names and then comment when they have no education and it shows with their posts. Look at any data and talk to amy teacher. Ashe was much happier when Dr. Holden was here and there he sure didn’t the hate and discontent with the community. Why can’t I apply for any job that I want if phyllis can and yet tells people they don’t have the degree. Her daughter talks to her Terrible , and gets far more than others. **** was terrible at the middle school and finally made it at Westwood after 3 placements and she moves him. You’re the joke. Sure you don’t have a job, experience, or any skeletons in your closet. If you look at all 5 board members now, there is strippers, affairs and much more. It is not easy to switch districts no matter who you are. As for the teachers, Sherrie is a great teacher and so is Charlene. In all reality none of the Kindergarten teachers are bad at Westwood. You can make a request, but that doesn't mean it will be granted. I think you people are being pretty to tell you the truth. How many of you are actually from her and know what we have dealt with in the past? I dread winter when the post start about closings or lack thereof.

Heard on the radio that Todd Holden is running for school board???? Yeah that is what we need. A repeat of someone who set our system back five years by doing NOTHING but running the roads and "playing" around with the help! Went to Madison, got in trouble there and wants to come back here and do more damage? What a joke is right!!

I heard Keith McClure filed for BOE also.

If good people in education are leaving Ashe - seems like the public needs to take that up with the school board - If superintendent is one of those reasons

What are other reasons? Pay? Superintendent said on the Happy Time Show the turnover rate here is 7%

Just be fair for public education.

So teacherpick if you're unhappy, why not file to run for the board of education? So far the status quo holds. T Willliams and P Jones have filed for re-election. Steve Johnson has filed, but with Charlie King's health it is not likely he'll run anyway. So where's the uprising? Reading this forum many seem mad, but no one is stepping up.

If I were the superintendent my grandchildren would be in the best school and in the best teachers class. Why would you even consider anything different?

As a mom or (dad) on this blog, I certainly hear that there is a lot of talk and posts read by teachers. I do listen and talk but some things are brought to light here on the goashe. Some lies but some truth. So, if I had a child going to kindergarten or 1st grade, who do I want? In each elementary school? I heard it easy to switch schools if you know the right people. Almost impossible, years ago but now you can get what school you want as long as you know directors at the Board of Education.

Then put David as high school principal. Heard he doesn't work past 4:00 so he could never make it there. Jason works past 4:00 and attends all football games and basketball gams. David wouldn't do that. Phyllis wants David there in the future at ACHS. Blackburn uses tobacco and dips all day and hs kids would see this so they can't put him at high school because high school kids would not let him use tobacco on school grounds like he is allowed to at MVES.
