If I was going to vote for a R candidate why would I vote for Mochen who hasn't been here a year yet? (though he will have been by the time of the general election). Wouldn't it make more sense to vote for Hendrix who at least has lived in the county and done a fairly good job running the small Hospital police force?

If I ran a business.....And I do......I will not advertise with this worthless paper. They do not reach the citizens of Ashe. They do not represent the desires of the citizens of Ashe. They represent their own needs first. Why would anyone pay to have the media represent themselves?

I think they (the same parent compny) are the ones behind the annual business awards in Boone each year. You know where someone wins best pizza in town, most attractive building, etc. But the awards are given out at a banquet each year, and they tell business owners “you’ve been nominated for best burger this year. How many tickets to the banquet would you like to buy”

Now the "news and post" is writing articles about how great the businesses that advertise with them are. Like - Parker Tie and Jims corners furniture.

Fair is right, its absolutely disgusting how developers have taken advantage of the county not paying their property taxes. There is page after page of them on the tax administration site for all to see.

The quality of the paper has gone way done since they merged into one paper.

I do agree with you fairplay that there are a number of individuals and businesses that have abused the system because the county wouldn't do anything in the past.

I don't really care that much about someone that is a little late with their taxes. Anyone can have a temporary cash flow problem. The ones that bother me, are the developers that have let their taxes go for years. They knew the county would not do anything, and took advantage of it.

Why are y'all so concerned about some local gossip rag? it's been that way for longer than i can remember..Never has really been a Ashe paper as far as reporting..

What's funny is they've had two different headlines that Lightfoot dropped out, once last week and now this week. It's just like they can't find anything else to report. I'd suggest they buy at least a police scanner and get some ideas.

Who cares about Lightfoot.....he is not running for a county office......and if he files tomorrow....his taxes are paid.

Well jack Weinstein the word in the courthouse is that Mochen did pay his taxes last week, the list just isn’t updated often.
Also Dylan Lightfoot paid his DELINQUENT taxes too...

Porky I just checked again and Stevie Mooch is still listed as not paying his property taxes. As some liar stated it was a mistake by an attorney. While going through the list I swear I had the feeling I passed your name.
