Pork Chop, you’ve never once disproven anything we’ve said. Not once. You’ve never even presented an ounce of doubt

Porky you mean they have to muddle through the lying posts you put up only to realize ours has been the truth all along. Why does the truth about people bother you so much. You must owe property taxes and have federal tax liens against you.

No, if they see something on this site they have to do a lot of work to make sure it is true and not one of the many fabrications and personal vendettas that persist here

Ive said for years the paper boys get tipped off from this site. But with this new bunch theyve really made it true.

Well 9 hours ago the Ashe Post & Times finally posted about the fire. I guess the first thing any of us should do is post the news here first so that they know what to report.....

What will it's platform consist of? Flyers on windshields?

So Katie, when are you starting this new paper?

katie_brooks

Posted 10:39 am, 02/20/2018

I heard the new paper will be called The Ashe County Line.

Face it Ashe doesn't have a local paper!!!

They think if the other papers do well their laziness wont ever show at Ashe.

This is how bad the county paper has gotten. There was a major structure fire in Crumpler Saturday night at the Cupboard. Still nothing on the paper's website etc about the fire. It's like they aren't even trying.

A whole thread sounds overcooked. I'm still exploring things at this point and may not have informed responses on a number of questions people might ask. But I can briefly sum up my platform at this point: try for fewer SBI investigations, legal fees and embarrassing headlines.

Lightfoot we need to start a thread and discuss your goals if elected as Ashe commissioner.

Never worked in the same office with Mr. Orr but he did the job right. Hate to see you go, Adam, but glad to see you leaving the ink mines ready for whatever's next. Jump and a net will appear.

I hate to hear you are gone Adam, I wish you well. I do think you did your best. I suppose we'll only have fluff pieces from now on, no real hard news....certainly nothing about the corruption of our County Commissioners and Sheriff's office.

Businesses are quickly realizing that newspaper advertising is a waste of money

The Ashe Mountain Times never once touched anything that might stir controversy around here that i have seen. I may not be an Ashe native, but it doesn't take an expert to see that whoever ran that paper and seems to be the same group running the post and times, you won't get any hard news coverage. Just that simple. I haven't seen it in the decade that I have lived here as a permanent resident. At least the post was willing to go out there and report on the worthless sheriff, a certain commissioner giving himself a job and the asphalt plant debacle.

The new paper should just be glad that businesses are still dumb enough to pay print advertising prices in a market where not that many people even see the paper
