Funny. It's a white washed version of what I posted here after they printed the interview with the sheriff about the show

There's a good editorial in the JP today on Southern Justice.

The commissioners knew what the sheriff was doing as well as the county manager. If you want to catch them in a lie just request their emails and sift through them.

I heard that Nat Geo first was going to film in VA, but they couldn't find enough people that knew how to sign their names on the release forms

I should clarify that I've not complained about the show itself. Heck, when I first heard about it, I looked forward to seeing the Barney's prove on TV everything I've said about them. My complaint has been with the sheriff regarding his idiotic justification for selling out his department and his home to be on TV. This show will not attract tourists or jobs, like he claimed he hoped it will. It will make everyone think the area is nothing but woman beating alcoholic pillheads.so what, I don't really care. But the sheriff trying to piss on my head and tell me it is raining, ticks me off.

It might be good to "step back and take a breath" from this story. "National TV" is a stretch in itself. Back in the 60's and 70's there were the three networks - and being on "national TV" would have had some type of ramification,
With over a thousand channels and "so called networks" the impact of this show is rather diluted. I doubt that many people that are looking for a retirement community or a place to build a new plant are spending much time on scripted reality shows like this one.
This reminds me of the uproar of "they are taking the red lights down in West Jefferson" Comments were that the accidents would have blood running all the way down the street to the cheese plant.
It just didn't happen. This show is a joke and will pass with little to no consistences.

There a big difference between talking about them on a local forum and airing the counties dirty laundry on National TV.

The plot thickens in last night show they showed the Ashe K-9 unit doing a drug sweep of the middle school and going through some girls locker. According to the school superintendent he said he was told that some video of the school would be taken but had know idea they were going to use the school for a drug search with the K9 and be going through anyone's locker. After I talked to him he didn't sound very happy about the whole thing.
