This program should be titled; "This Is Ashe County!" Good idea? Bad idea? Neither, would be the correct answer. The show is what it is, a real time account of hillbilly North Carolina. What's it to you people anyway? Does it make a difference? Are you embarrassed by yer kin? Truly, are you worried about how this makes you and the rest of the community look? Trust me, you're doing fine getting the word out there without a national television show. And to top the whole thing off, some of you are complaining about the money made from the show. Now, if you'll excuse me, I think I'll go call "the law"!

Sheriff James Williams' crew will be featured in the episode tonight at where the release says "moonshine has been replaced by meth, prescription-pain killers and designer drugs like bath salts and �gravel'" as the most encountered clandestine substances.

That's the secret right there. Disavow all knowledge when something looks worse than the original idea looked. Remember when then County Manager Dan McMillan said that neither he nor the Mouth Breathers knew about the Economic Developer's (future Managerette) plan to subsidize a Building Supply Company to come in here when the perfectly good existing building supply companies were struggling? He said it alright. And then the Managerette, after the ship hit the sand, said that she had no choice in the matter. WTF? I can't for the life of me believe for one minute that the Manager and the Mouth Breathers had full knowledge before the Sheriff agreed to the Nat Geo deal. End of the world? No. Giant mistake? Yep.

I ask the Sheriff which commissioner and he told me all of them. I would like to know which commissioner you talked to so I could call and tell him what is being said. Someone is lying either the Sheriff or the commissioner

I just called one of the commissioners, and he said commissioners had nothing to do with it. sheriff had everything worked out before some commissioners even knew about this tv deal.

I just talk to the sheriff and asked him who felt it was a good Idea to air our counties dirty laundry on National TV. He told me it was his and the commissioners I then ask him if the money of 5000 per show was the reason. He said the money was a very small amount due to the limited number of shows. I told him I would watch the show with an open mind but didn't see how this help our county in any way. I urge all of you to call and voice your opinion as well if they get enough push back maybe they will stop.

Interesting, very interesting...The SO and the commissioners of Ashe are sure to be extremely proud of it's citizens.. I can already see the new businesses and people gathering to move here.....
