It's a last chance " Hail Mary" by the county to appease the tree huggers . No way will it stand in court.

Ashe county tried the same thing with Tri County and their insurance payed big time.

They claim it expired and no work has ever been started for the plant after 4 years.

I wonder under what authority they can revoke a permit that has been lawfully and legally issued

Ya think Watauga might still be a little red around the hole since we gave them such a hard time over the water line? Pay back?

Looks like they will be hunting another site for the asphalt plant. Watauga shut them down at the site they planned on using.

They ain't heard the last of Wiley. He will have them in court

Going back to the comment about reverting back to gravel, this video makes me think that the lady in this is the same one that made that comment

It would be hard for Lucian to furnish asphalt as he doesn't have a plant. lol

Also 421 is ready to be repaved from Wilkes County line to Boone in two years.

Agree on all points. Especially on trusting that fat turd.

I don't trust Wiley as far as I can throw him but it makes sense for the 221 project. And for a large part of Ashe. Lucien cannot furnish enough enough asphalt to keep a paver going on a major road project

Morons say stuff like that because they know they won't ever have to actually deal with dirt roads. And when that same moron's road gets in bad shape and full of potholes, they will be the first to complain about the government not taking care of them.

105 is already dangerous. And the exit at the existing asphalt plant where trucks pull out is one of the worst spots. And, isn't this new plant supposed to be temporary?

I agree there should be limits on where they are placed but people that make comments like this????

"I think if we need that much pavement materials growth should be really looked at I'd rather have dirt roads than all the traffic"

Sure makes me wonder about some people. And I am sure they are not the ones that will have to contend with the additional traffic on 105 through Boone when they start paving on 221.
