Drinking beer for an hour or two does not necessarily make one drunk. There are many variables to BAC. Body mass is probably the biggest variable. Consuming while eating is another.

If the johnny troopers want to stay here they wont be harassing the tourists. The police already know this in WJ. The only one I have seen is the Jefferson cop used to sit outside his jurisdiction at the Valero running radar in the 35mph.

Lots of reasons why folks who have been having a relaxed night out might not be stopped for DUI, they might not be over the legal limit for blood alcohol, just because you drink a few beers or mixed drinks over an evening does not mean you are legally drunk, I don't believe that exiting an establishment which serves alcohol provides law enforcement with probable cause to stop you, you have to be committing some sort of suspicious or illegal act to get pulled over and then checked.
Now if the SHP or WJPD wanted to have a traffic stop and check everyone they might have a fruitful night, but I don't think it is going to happen.

Ever thought they have a driver sober driver? There are too many variables to what you are claiming poor boy. Who is it you are having a problem with?

no i dont have a problem with anyone having a drink but when people go there and stay for a couple hours and drink then drive away, thats an issue, maybe the owners of these places have a deal with law enforcement to overlook anyone whose vehicle has been parked out front for hoursat a time, i very doubt they leave sober

I can't understand why some people are so ignorant and are so judgmental of people that enjoy a good drink. Even Jesus liked a good wine

i dont understand why people can go to the downtown beer joints, drink for hours and drive away without getting cited for a DUI, maybe its legal to drink and drive as long as you drink in a downtown beer joint

Calling that prime rib is like calling a carhart coat a dinner jacket

There's always that "slow cooked prime rib" on down the road for the Carhart crowd. Let's face it, Ashe County can't sustain much in the way of quality dining with the limited number of folks here that expect and demand true quality.

What's really classless is a waitress that asks "do you need change?" Like she is trying to guilt you into a tip. They should take the check and your money, put any change back in the folder and return it to the table to leave it to your discretion to tip

I tip well, but if I break a $100 for a $20 lunch, I'm not tipping 400%
