Shadow I do believe you are full of BS. Run on over to sparta and Independence va and notice all the fire hydrants in both directions from the pumping station on the river.

One thing I would like to see is for the state to force them to install a fire hydrant every mile along the pipe line.

Not practical to install hydrants on a force feed main. Pressure is will be too high
Just how much pressure do you think they are going to use and what do you think the Hydrants in Boone are on now?

Yes it is and this is very common in the gas and oil fields where electricity isn't available but there isn't just one engine there are several of them so if one is down the others can still pump gas.

I just saw a video of a Compressor station in VA that had at least 6 engines running pumps and several of them were broke down or being replaced and we haven't even mention the noise which was terrible. In short yes it is doable but that doesn't make it the best or cheapest way to do it. However knowing Boone it wouldn't surprise me to see them build this pump station using 1900 era construction methods.

All the gas that comes to the mountains is compressed with gas burning engines.

It's the cheapest way to pump the water. That way they don't have to have massive generators standing idle.

I doubt that. Electric motors are more efficient and cheaper than internal combustion engines. The control wiring is also more simple. If they were smart they would have blue ridge provide them with 3 phase power to run the pumps and use a standby generator incase the power goes out. A prime mover gas or diesel engine will require lots of maintenance and a major repair can take a while. If an electric motor goes bad it could be swap out in hours if they were smart enough to have a replacement in storage.

One question I have is who is going to make sure that they don't pump more water from the river than they are permitted to and what happens if they do pump more than their allotment

Maybe we should just dig a trench all the way too boone from the river bank and see if thats enough water.

I guess that would be the cheapest way to heat the building and provide back up power

Frontier energies is getting ready to lay the natural gas to the pump station from 221 to Brownwood by way of Cranberry Springs road.

So the chair idiot got his puppet notes messed up and voted the wrong way. LOL what a pure display of ignorance.

Duh, that's why it wouldn't go back. I did watch live

Farmer28

I listened to it live yesterday morning - there was a message that they were experiencing video issues but the sound came through just fine. They made a motion to have Jordan remove Ashe from the house bill and Roark apparently voted with the majority at first to approve the motion. Then he came back later and said he wanted to table the motion or retract his vote on the motion that he had already voted on or something to that effect - it was very confusing.

Where are you all looking at the video, the counties web site doesnt have the meeting available yet.

Basking

I think they have it only working with internet explorer. The rewind and fast forward isn't working for me

Basking put your arrow right under the video and a dot will appear the shows the progress of the tape. You can move the dot back and forth to go on the tape where you want to be or to re listen to a portion.

I have not had time to listen to it yet but I have no doubt the head idiot didnt let me down with his obvious stupidity and being a puppet for some clan.

What I didn't catch and couldn't get it to rewind, was he trying to vote on a referendum asking Jordan to remove Ashe from the bill? Or did the moron actually think they could vote on a state bill? I would hate for them to fix the website so it would be reliable

Did anyone else listen to the commissioners discussion on the house Bill that Johnathan Jordan evidently introduced that would require municipalities in Ashe and Watauga to ask permission from county government prior to taking condemnation action? Roark voted first not to include Ashe in the bill then attempted to retract his vote after listening to the person who was on the agenda - (Packer? maybe). Anyway he made quite the fool of himself.

No but appraisals are which basically is the same as what the neighbor got because the appraiser bases his opinion on sales.

The owners are easy to know. Most of them are his neighbors. What they are paying becomes public record when they record the easement at the courthouse. That why it is always best to wait to see.

But, what your neighbor got is not admissible in court in your condemnation trial.
