There is already a criminal background check. Criminals don't go through the system to get their firearms. Not all that are mentally ill have ever been diagnosed as such. First of all, the fact that you obviously think AR and AK are interchangeable by saying "they were used" shows you don't know anything about weapons. I don't remember a shooting where someone used an AK. But all you know is that the media has told you they are bad. You also don't know that the only thing differentiating these weapons from other weapons that are acceptable hunting rifles is the cosmetic looks. Aside from the look, they operate basically the same, perform the same, and can be used for the same tasks. Contrary to what you've been told by the liberal propaganda, plenty of people use AR's for hunting and competition.
