I think there are 3 or 4 child care centers in the county that are renting part or all of a county owned building. One center rents 1/3 of the old west Jefferson school building and only pays $1 per year plus 1/3 of the utilities. Another child care center pays no rent but occupies a county owned building. A third child care center that is currently renting part of the family central building has been asked to pay $4000 a month to remain there. When the superintendent of schools was asked about this inconsistency she was needless to say a little tongue tied. She didn't offer much of a reason. Shouldn't the county make it fair across the board?
