That the School of Government said that the hiring of Roark is not illegal means very little. It is still an immoral, unethical and poor business. The BOC are supposed to be watching out for the counties best interest. Not their own. Even children in grade school know this is wrong.

The fact that he's not building and wants a county job says everything about how good he is. It's the same as how a lot of times building inspectors are failed contractors. A general contractor that's any good can easily make three times what the maintenance job pays.

Did anyone catch Yearick on the Happy Time show today spouting about how Roark is "the best homebuilder in the county"? What a slap in the face to some of the really good builders here. Hiring Roark as an employee has got to be the stupidest thing Yearick has done since he's been here. And allowing Yearick to do so, is yet another in a laundry list of stupid things that the board has allowed. While I realize the merits of not micro-managing, sometimes you just have to step in and this is one thing the commissioners should have stopped at the beginning.

Honestbroker, I've been talking with an Attorney in Raliegh. Under state law, There are requirements for everyone in the state. The attorney is in a meeting today but I will followup tomorrow or Thursday. There is also a host of Federal issues here....

It is unethical to get paid to attend a commissioners meeting, While getting paid as maintenance employee. Either he is one or the other, getting paid for one or the other, not both.

I don't think its a rumor about commissioner paulas husband sheet rocking the 3rd floor of the law office. I heard they're trying to create him a job since Vannoy's got rid of him because commissioners voted Bucky out.Dont tread on Vannoy's politics they do believe in what's right.I think Roark starts tomorrow as the Maintenance Supervisor im sure this is going to be interesting.I have only one problem with this and its Roark he is 68 retired,drawing ss,military pention, fire department pay,receiving commissioner pay,as well as Maintenance Supervisor pay and his wife is a millionaire according to all i have read . So can you honestly say that he should have got that Maintenance Supervisor position away from those young fellows just trying to make a living?????? I guess this is called Greed and no conscience at all . Bad dream - **** it's a nightmare. I saw another nightmare Saturday - Judy Porter Poe was very active at the Republican meeting at the courthouse.

I keep thinking I'm going to wake up from this bad dream.
