JustaFyi so that you are correctly informed I have never had the flu or the flu shot sorry I dont have a clue whats in it. So other than HIV (sorry your butthurt) what can I replace it with, your feelings are my upmost concern......

I love how some people are so stuck on the coronavirus and somehow HIV gets thrown in there as a comparable because it's a virus too. So ghost, since you think everyone should share their medical information, share yours with us. Have you had your flu shots this year, if so when? Did you get the flu this year because it seemed like pretty much everyone had gotten some stand of it. When you had it were you 100ft away from everyone? Come on now, be honest.

afilcoNadoS- well is it right for someone having the virus so ly going to work and living life acting like they are not putting anyone around then face to face with catching the virus and God forbid having some health problem for which this virus kill them? For all those who keep getting all butt hurt over someone putting someone out there for the public to know, well they need to go to NY and get some cornavirus and pray to God they have good health and then why stop there go get HIV. I mean really.....I want to know who these people are because its my choice to stay 100ft away from you and not go where you go. Further more I dont know why there is not being a law passed right now like the law dealing with HIV because looks like they are the same thing. If this virus aint so bad please those who are getting butt hurt over it take yourself and your family straight to NY and let us(Ashe County Residents) there is nothing to worry about, i can promise no one has a complete family or loved ones who have 100 clean bill of health. Im sure that I can speak for others on this until you do that then boo whooo if someones feelings get hurt over people knowing- hey guess what? dont go to NY catch the virus and then come here spreadinig it around like chicken crap on a field. OOOKKKKAAAAYYYY

Fins, you're out of your depth on this post. They are not accomplishing the same thing. Isolation is for individuals who have confirmed symptoms or a positive test to ensure the transmission is not spread. It does not have to be for 14 days, but until the individual has been declared "recovered" based on current CDC guidance. Quarantine is for those asymptomatic individuals, with a current standard of 14 days per CDC, to determine if they develop symptoms within that pre-approved time frame. This is to determine if those who may have had contact with a COVID-19 patient may have acquired the infection. Now, once again, this has nothing to do w/the current situation or locals infected, but, as former Associate Justice Scalia stated, "Words have meaning. And their meaning doesn't change." Reading is fundamental.

Well hillbilly, I'm proud of you for trying to expand your vocabulary, but in your effort to split semantics, you failed to grasp that under the current scenario, both are accomplishing the same thing. If you can't understand that, get a professional to explain it to you. And furthermore, the individuals in question handled everything in the manner that the NC department of health and the governor's executive orders said to at that time. So shut up with your whining and move on and let the people be.

Ahhh, Fins...Not nearly as intelligent as you portray yourself of this site.
No, quarantine and isolation are not the same. Those definitions are pulled directly from HHS or CDC; you can take your pick on your source. I pointed it out because there is a big difference between the two. If you'd like, I can break down the definitions to a lower grade level so that you can comprehend.
And I made not comment on the index patient or other patient in question, nor about what I though I thought they should or should not do. You should stop projecting your wrong assessments on "hillbillies" such as myself.

For the person trying to mislead the public, funeral director tested positive! So please state facts and quit trying to protect someone who didn't try to protect you. The funeral home wouldn't come out as if they were contacting all whom has come in contact with her if not. Use common sense

I don't know the family, but I know people who know the family and what I heard through the grapevine (since that's what some people are going by) that the lady that went to NYC tested negative for the virus, her husband was the first one to test positive. Which confirms hikingmom, how do we know that the virus came from her going to NYC? Do I think it was smart for her to go there, no, but although it would seem that the virus came from her going there, there's no actual proof. So to all you witch hunters out there unless you can trace where the virus was contracted from, stfu because karma's can be a *****.
