DSS board dissolved

Hope Karma Comes Soon

Posted 9:14 am, 07/29/2018

Why run the risk of Sexton being able to serve for three more years? A lot of damage can be done in three years - look how much Sexton has done already, as well as the amount of damage Buchanan did in less than a year and how much damage Yearick did in 5 years. Getting shed of Sexton was a good move as was getting shed of the other two. KARMA KARMA KARMA.

The perception of running for office has got to change back to when educated upstanding men ran for office and made sound decisions. Not these high school drop outs hanging out on the front row of a baptist church.

You can’t go around always worrying about if the BOC is going to screw up again. The board is made up of people. People dumb enough to be willing to run in the first place.

All of whom were members of the BOC, while you might not think the current BOC will do it, a future one will. This one might even do it after the election you just don't know, politicians can't really be trusted.

Also Sexton was serving a 3 year term, and you can't serve more than 2 terms consecutively without at least one or more are simultaneously spent as a BOC member.

Also a member of a DSS board can be removed through the same process as most officials, Sexton could have been removed from the board if the BOC had recommended such to the state. It seems they had good cause to remove him.

This board did not give us bufurt. Elmer fudd, perry, and Rose gave us bufurt. Two of the three are gone. There was no other solution but to abolish the board and maybe form a new advisory committee. Not with former commissioners or women with records.

This was still a bad solution, keep in mind the BOC are the ones that gave us Buchanan, it's probably only a matter of time before a future BOC puts their pet in as head of DSS. It's like the county learned nothing.

Hey **** to Ashes you obviously don't know squat. Does your last name start with a Y or an S? It's obvious you are related to one of them.

We have a DSS director (who also happens to be a lawyer) that will give a monthly report to the BOC. We also have a DSS staff attorney with 30+ years in that capacity. Add to that several highly qualified and very experienced supervisors in that department. Wouldn't most sane people trust these folks to make more sound decisions than a bunch of Yearick defenders that made up the majority of the now dissolved DSS Board?

We should have known Yearick and Elmer fudd were behind the forcing Donna Weaver to resign. And I wonder if Judy Poe was waist deep in it too.

Lets not forget that the employees that spoke have been there 20 plus years. McClure, Barnes, and Hurley are not just "workers" , they are trusted people out in the community. They have dedicated much of their lives to helping the people of Ashe. I have heard nothing from Sexton that makes me believe that he was serving the people of Ashe.

Potashe you said the statement below

I don’t know Sexton but the female board members are excellent ladies who took the PUBLIC’S concerns serious and tried to get this group of snowflakes under control.

You think Poe is excellent and she broke New river crazies, and made the statement about county employees could just leave while a sitting commissioner.
You think the Cox woman who got a prayer for judgement for abuse of a 12Y/o is excellent.

You truly are a moron Potashe.

Aflic, don’t respond to Sextown, (ashes.) He brought himself down. And now maybe that Little whimp snitch he has at dss will follow him out the door.

I know firsthand and their workload is nothing COMPARED to other counties. They are helping theirselves to a lot of high salaries. You can’t get a job there if you are the wrong politics. Anyone wonder why it was just employees wanting the change. This is a mafia of money and benefits to SELF SERVE. And YOU should be ashamed to talk about the underprivileged ASHE county citizens. They can’t help their capacity.

You heard wrong. DSS is probably the busiest, most over worked department in the county. Actually this is the case in probably every county. It’s a high stress job. They are dealing with peoples lives every day, and most of their clients aren’t the brightest members of society. Try talking to someone that actually works the job instead of just hearing things.

This sounds like nothing more than a pity party of DSS employees to get out of work. They now basically have NO oversight. They may have to have another Play at the Barter or Spa Day to destress. From what I hear the Former DSS board tried to straighten them out. I don’t know Sexton but the female board members are excellent ladies who took the PUBLIC’S concerns serious and tried to get this group of snowflakes under control. Anybody can figure out they are throwing mud at Yearick to try and get out of paying him on his Kilby contract. When you have about an 80 year old commissioner and his much younger girlfriend who is the FORMER DSS DIRECTOR who team up for their OWN political agenda this is what you get.

How was it kept so quiet with the charges against the Cox woman and she a sitting member of the dss board?

His text messages and emails to Rose, perry, and bufurt are enough to can him and tell him to sue like he thought thats the way the county does business.

Who is this Cox person convicted of abusing a 12y/o? WTH was she doing on the board with a record?

Actually this may free BOC to discharge Yearick with cause if his comments to Weaver can be substantiated. It's certainly worth a try and puts him in the position of having to prove otherwise.

All I can say is Great Job of reporting Ashe county line. Now if Donna Weaver didn't put it to Yearick I am proud of her. My only regret in this is that the board let Yearick sit there as long as they did. He is a real rectal hole.
