Guess mom is sitting back saying, I didn’t get the memo about the dress code. Either that or “Honey” it doesn’t apply to you! Mom is too interested in collecting money & drawing attention to her daughters new chosen life style. She feels if she screams discrimination to Ellen or other news outlets, she’ll get some bucks. Hope she enjoys the attention this has brought not only to her but to Carlie/Luke. Ashe County residents now know Carlie wants to be a guy. SMH

Standing behind BOE & ACHS on this!

Good response from the school. I'm sure "mom" is going to claim it was really not about the dress code/shoes. I watched "mom" in her youtube video. She is an interesting lady for sure...….

I've done an informal poll of nine high school seniors. ALL alluded that the instructions were very clear and timely given. Mom is way off base here. I wonder where dad is.....with a personality like the mom, he probably got out of her sight PDQ.

So now that the school has given their side, it was just like I figured, what is "mom" going to cry about now?

I think this is an adequate response. Short, to the point and devoid of emotion. Good Job ABOE! If students were allowed to adjust their wardrobe to reflect their personal tastes, the ceremony would look like a circus instead of the event we now enjoy.

I’m afraid Butterfly kisses don’t do a thing for me daddy and I dropped out of college after two years so I don’t meet your seed planting standards either. I’m still confused about Jennifer Alice Andrews..

Now daddy wants to treat you right, give you butterfly kisses

Butterfly morning, butterfly darling

Well hey country, daddy here. Name’s Clem, but most people call me daddy.

Haha.. I feel like I have read something you have posted about dollar general before but I can’t remeber what it was. I have never bought clothes there before. I only go there if I’m too lazy to go a little farther to another store or I’m in bad need of a red bull.

I judge people with hundred or maybe thousands of dollars in tattoos shopping in the clothing aisle at Dollar General

I don’t judge people based on hair color or body art but had I done something like that to my hair before graduation my mom would have not allowed me to go.

Btw, dyed hair and some tattoos are commonly acceptable now in most corporate environments. Anyone making an issue out of the hair needs to catch up to the times

While I am no doctor I believe that anyone who thinks they are a member of or identifies as the opposite sex has some sort mental problems. I am willy to bet that not another person there that night would have cared what type of shoe she wore This is just another example of someone who has some authority wanting to get their way. This is no different than afics and jack's Johnny troopers screwing with people just because they can.

I honestly don't know what good a lawyer is going to do for them but if he finds something I hope he breaks it off deep in some school employees.

Btw, dyedhair and tattoos are widely ok in most work places now

Jr, the mother said “learning problems”. I take that to mean something like dislexia or something, not special ed class like “special needs” sort of implies. From what I gathered, she’s completely competent and capable mentally, and should be able to follow the rules that were handed out well in advance.

You arm chair paper boys have forgotten all the stories we broke on this site when the bird cage liner Ashe post never reported it or they were so late no one cared. There is nothing wrong in the Ashe County Line. I dont like Ken Lynn's always liberal opinion. He cant grasp the fact that the republicans control this county.

That’s a Fox affiliate, synonymous with sensationalizing stories for clicks and views, like most TV outlets.
