No lazy preacher is going to do anything for FREE. That word is not in their vocabulary. They will drink up all your liquor and bang your wife though.

I don't trust any religion that begs for money. That includes most churches here in Ashe County.

Very Spirit filled event! No food was offered. I understand we have preachers that would preach for free, but I don't see many of them hosting a countywide revival. Sometimes it is good to have a change. Too each their own though.

Glad to hear that hiker mom. Just to be clear though......was the "Hope" that was brought to "the mountains" the same "Hope" that many of our God called ministers who have been preaching their hearts out in Ashe county for their entire lives for free have been telling us about for years? My point being, someone still paid for the show. It is a shame I think that we would put that much effort and finances into an event when we have God called ministers for neighbors who would have preached the revival for free. I also see you say I missed a great event......my question is though......did a miss a spirit filled church service or just a free pizza and a show? I missed the ice age too but I'm certainly not kicking myself over it.

Hope for the Mountains was funded by Ashe Baptist Association. There was no need for pan handling on the street. If you missed the crusade you missed a great event. The guys pan handling were passing out leaflets and I forget what ministry they claimed to be from, but it wasn't either of the two mentioned. If I recall they were around last year too.

It wasn't for Hope for the Mouuntains either.

I heard they were collecting money for the "Hope for the Mountains" crusade they held at the high school last week. I always thought they passed around the collection plate during church and at the church only. Makes me wonder what the real agenda is if they are begging for money from the entire community what time they are here. Sounds to me like the only "hope" they have is they hope to make enough money off of Ashe county to satisfy their own pockets. Kind of reminds me of that old Steve Martin movie Leap of Faith don't you think?

When I came through yesterday it appeared they were getting tickets from WJPD. There were several police cars there. About two weeks ago they were there collecting money, but it wasn't for Ebenzer.

I didn't give anything. They have been out there off and on for like the past 2 weeks or so. I seen them several times. Just wanted to know what they are all about.....seemed kind of sketchy to me.

They are working with the KKK. They want to get another flag to stand with. How much did you give?
