How many school nurses does the county employ?

No, a nurse must have a 4 year degree and a barney only passes a class for a few hours, and a johnny trooper goes to trooper school for 6 weeks. I would say the nurse is under paid. I looked up the barney pay and noticed Alleghany at 25K a year. Those barneys could qualify for food stamps.

And furthermore, do you call a ambulance every time you have the sniffles, or upset stomach?

Lets look at it this way. The barney cost us 32,658.00 each. A school nurse should cost over 50,000.00. We have three schools within a mile or so of three ambulances, the fleetwood ambulance, and Ashe rescue. Why do we need either of them?

Dog you and Basking need to make sure you run for the next openings on the Board of Education. You then will know all of this and quit trying to pick everybody's brain.

Doesn't each school have their own nurse on staff?

Somehow I was understanding that there was one barney at each school and one nurse for the entire county. I'm not sure but it would seem that the health department could handle any duties a school nurse does.
Another question is just how many jobs have been created that are not in the class room and not cafeteria or janitorial staff.

DUUUUUH! Basking just hit the ball out of the park. I would rather have a medical professional on site (that might actually do some good) than a barney at every door. This is a no brainer that I totally missed.

Can anyone tell me how many nurses the county school system has on staff? And are they full time?
Also, what's the number of school resource officers again? Can anyone tell me what is more likely to happen. A medical emergency or a physical threat at a school.
Come on parents, do the God D***ed math on this one and demand the county spend our money wisely.
