The teachers have brain washed you scott. You make our point with your situation of past employment. A teachers job is one of the easiest and most paid for the amount of time they actually work. There are many jobs that require take home work and even on call for no pay. Dont let them brain wash you.

The teachers have long had their lobbying group they are all members of. This group is more like a union up north. They could have stopped what was changed in the class rooms but rather sat back and let a couple dismantle the education system of NC.

I've worked in factories several times in my life 5-6 days a week for years, though I don't these days due to back injuries which impede my ability to stand for 8 hours now. Never once at those jobs did I ever have to take work home.

Teachers though routinely take work home. Whether it's lesson planning, grading papers, etc. I've known many good teachers who put in as much time at home doing necessary things as they did at school.

As for holding the whole class back to the dumbest kid, you can thank Leave No Child Behind and Common Core for that stupidity. The teachers just implement the policies given to them by their administration. That administration gets much of their rules these days from state and federal mandates. I agree it is a bad situation but it's not the teachers fault. If you want to change that then you need to strike at the heart of the problem, state and federal regulations that tie the hands of administrators and teachers.

You teachers have allowed your bed to be made for you and you all sat back and let it happen.

Because you have 5-6 little dumb johnnies that are just never going to learn teachers have allowed the system to hold the rest of the class back so as not to "offend, hurt their feelings". This has all but brought the education system down to a halt. Then all you want is to throw money at the problem which has been proven to do nothing. Lay in your bed teachers.

Tim, it's not the area you are from that makes you useless white trash.

And dog means a real year. Not one of those teacher years

Then you should spend a year really working a job 5-6 days a week for a year and see what it really entails. We would then shut the whining teachers up. Need me to list all the benefits again?

If you think teaching is so easy and it's only a 6 hour a day job I'd suggest applying and spend a year teaching and see what it really entails.

Maybe we could work out an exchange program with one of those eastern counties that are already ahead of Ashe with implementing those subjects. They could send a couple teachers up here to get those classes set up and we can send a couple down there to help them start "just because you shot it, doesn't mean you have to eat it"

The schools in Ashe should teach some practical skills that will aid them later in life. 1) How to level your house after moving it into another spot. 2) The right and wrong way to cash "the check". 3) Your heritage under the rebel flag. 4) How to make the family gene pool deeper. 5) How to make your truck throw a smoke screen. With those tasks firmly in hand, I think a diploma is in order for ACS.

And unfortunately, not all there isn't enough school teacher jobs in the county to employ all the future lazy adults

School SRO's have a full day of supervision and patrol duties. With the only people left in Ashe being those that are too lazy to go where the real competitive jobs are anyway, their kids have to be under constant watch to keep from hurting themselves and others.

Services rendered are services rendered, so whether it be watching the doors or servicing some hot teacher in the broom closet, they might as well be getting paid for it!!

Why would that surprise me. So they are using their time trying to get some side action from a school employee. In the past the bus drivers have been the promiscuous ones.

From what I've witnessed, the SROs hang around bored, pestering other school personnel.
