What Ashe County really needs is to get rid of every job that pays more than $8.00 an hour and provides any benefits. No Hospital Jobs, No County Jobs, No Utility Jobs that pay more than $8.00 an hour.

Of course the local economy will fully collapse but who cares as long as Ashe County can lead the way to the economic bottom and become fully a third world economy that is based on illegal drugs, smuggling, and prostitution.

I'll bet if truck driver's wages dropped 50%, clod would care. However; I doubt and Skyline Techs would shive a git. But I would. But I command a view of the larger picture of economics than clodhopper.

Clod is either the dumbest, or most nieve person I have seen on here since our beloved Gum Ridge witch.

I don't need a lot of things, but yet I have them....I have no complaints with the service I receive..

Timmy you dont need their tv, you dont need their cell phone and you may not need their internet. I agree whole heartily they should make all they can but not when its out of line within the industry. The coastal region has some of the lowest rates in the state and some of them are co-ops.

Well, you are going on the assumption I pay list price.. So that's what we will roll with.. You cut your deals and I'll cut mine...

Well Timmi, it's because of people like you that corporations have thought it's ok to take advantage of their customers. And you also fail to understand what a co-op is. You should also learn how to negotiate instead of paying the list price.

Well puppy you are mistaken, I have phone, net, cell and tv services through Skybest... But like any other utilities, you pay their price for the services or be disconnected.. It don't get much simpler than that.. So what they pay their employees I could really care less..

Timmi, I dont begrudge anyone for making all they can make. And I think dog agrees with that. But the issue is as Joe explained. The problem is what skyline spends. The more they spend, the more their members pay in service. (And their internet and TV services are extremely over priced already). When they are paying close to double of what is the competitive rate for similar jobs in the area, they are wasting their members money.

its none of any ones biss what they pay anyway

Actually dummy it is since they are a coop and member owned. It is the business of every member/owner how their money is being spent.

You must not purchase services from skyline/skybest timmi. The more they are allowed to hide and get away with the higher the services are we pay for. They like bremco like to make excuses for the excessive charges. "Oh you live in the mountains and its just so rugged and few and far between". Someone correct me if I am wrong but did skyline not get grants to put in a lot of the fiber?

I don't really care what any of them make.. The more they can get, the merrier.. I'm proud of them!!!

I used to know a guy that went to work for skyline. And when he did , they sent him somewhere down east to school for about that long, and paid him and his room and board while down there. A good supervisor could train them in the field and have them working during the training and have them up to 90 percent in about 10 days. With in a month they should be to the point that school gets them to
