Ingles empty building Issue— What am I missing????

Sounds like Ingles is not interested in competition. They sell a little bit of everything, even gas. So unless you are selling clothes, auto parts or want to open a tractor dealership, you are probably not welcome under their roof.

Ingles built the buildings and has always owned the shopping center.

Hop sing is likely correct in a way. Ingles bought the buildings so as not to have competition right next door. They are pretending to lease it and writing off the empty space that is if the lady is telling us all the story.
Realtor lady you have two choices, move on to another location as there are many, or file a complaint with the commission.

It doesn't work well as a tax write off. It's more than 30 years old. Fully depreciated and he would have to pay property tax on the empty building.

I will admit, that place is an eyesore, and a lot of shady stuff goes down in those parking spaces. Sorry for being mean to realtorlady. I started in on beer at 7 am yesterday, then moved to bourbon shortly after. I was a mean ol cuss.

In order to rent the building they'd have to fix all the problems like a leaking roof. It may be simple that they don't believe they can make enough in rent to cover the cost of maintenance.

It is Ingles out of Asheville? Tell them you are lifelong Democrats and want to pay real money for the rent on that part of their shopping center. I bet they answer real quick.

HELP! I have someone interested in renting an adjoining office/retail space from #Ingles grocery store in West Jefferson. This space has been empty for several years, has no power, and has active roof leaks/damage. This space also has a FOR LEASE sign on it. The commercial Realtor refuses to help us so we went to corporate! The real estate dept at Corporate doesnt care to help either! What am I missing???? We have a qualified tenant who has been trying for a MONTH to get help renting this office AND is willing to do repairs! What gives??? Neither the commercial agent or the Ingles corp real estate dept seem to have interest in this?
