Fair, where I see his differently is that he took another government job, taking county money that could go to someone younger that actually needs it. On top of that, he commutes here to do it. Let him go get a private sector job that wants to pay him for his experience.

I don't care how many retirement checks he draws. I drew 100% (still do) Military disability the entire time I worked. Now, I get my military pay, my government pension, social security and a private pension plan. My wife gets two pension checks every month. We planned well and worked hard for what we get, and I do not care whether people like it, or think it is fair, or whatever.

When Ricky took the job as 2IC, didn't the paper say he had retired from the Durham PD? So would this mean he is drawing a pension and getting an County salary at the same time? Also, would that pension be paid by the city of Durham? Or is it coming out of the state law enforcement retirement fund? Are we paying this idiot twice to take food off the table of an Ashe County family?
