Unfortunately the court system is not interested in justice. It's set up and all about the money. It's not innocent until proven guilty but guilty until you prove you are innocent. It's all about the money.

This does happen many times. However, I believe the defendant can plead whatever they wish. It isn't up to the DA. The judge is the one that makes the sentencing decision. Many factors can play into this as well. Has the person had charges before that they were sentenced for? Did the defendant provide valuable information to LEO to help catch someone higher up in the chain?

I ask because yesterday he or one of his asst. let a person with several felonies for drugs and firearms plead no contest to 4 more felonies for drugs and at-least one of them was a trafficking charge and the person got off with suspended sentence. How many drug charges and felonies does one have to have before the DA demands jail time.
