Was Bufurt going after the SBI too? How about all the members of the Grand Jury? They are the ones that completed the investigation. They are the ones that handed the Evidence over to the DA. The DA only showed that evidence to the Grand Jury and they are the ones that indicted Bufurt. He had no case and he knows it, it was just a tactic and threat to get the settlement.

The charges were real, a grand jury agreed with the charges, so it was no abuse of power. Now explain who was going to fire a DA

Kilby represents the county as counsel. I know he is your friend but he was out of his league with the FOP attorneys. Kilby is also still named in WBTV's lawsuit. The county needs to employ a firm large enough to cover all aspects of county government. It would save the county money in the long run.

Proud et.al the end result is that Bufurt is no longer the Sheriff, you said he would be and now he is not. The next several months will determine if the County will recover from the poor decisions of the Commission and Manager. This site will continue to watch and comment on what happens, calling out those who make questionable decisions or seek to pull the wool over the eyes of the public.

No pork chop the county lost big. Bufurt being a sheriff was afforded the 3 FOP attorneys that took Ashe county and Kilby to school. Horners job had nothing to do with it. If you remember the sbi did an investigation and found that bufurt broke the law. A grand jury found a true bill of indictments against bufurt.

No mr Weinstein Buchanan won big! Charges dismissed and Horner had to make a deal to keep from losing his job.
