Some of us are less impressed by showy displays of ones means than others...

Bermuda is perfectly reasonable vacation destination for the sedentary traveller who likes to ooh and ahh over conch fritters.
Just how long were you there? If they told me I only had a week to live, I'd want to spend it in Bermuda.
That way, a week would feel like forever.
In North Korea, John Denver is considered the second greatest American ever -after you know who. When I told them I lived in a place mentioned in Country Roads, they threw me a free drink.

Never been to Bermuda chendo - but glad you've been so many times & that you love it so much. I'm sure it is absolutely lovely.
Having JUST returned from the far away end - Port Antonio section of Jamaica (and having traveled to the other hot tourist spots there previously), I feel inclined to let folks know how different it is...no squalor-just a beautiful jungle-y place with incredible people and scenic beauty.
Look up the Trident Hotel there and tell me if you regard that as squalor. I had lunch there last week and while I was waiting for them to catch & grill my fresh lobster, I watched a helicopter land on their private pad. The people that disembarked were wearing head to toe Versace clothing, they only flew in for a meal themselves.
Not saying that the s wearing clothing that could feed a family of 6 for several years were so great but, ahhh, just nevermind - To each their own.

I've been to Bermuda over a dozen times both on and off the ship...0 unemployment, 0 illiteracy, and none of the squalor that is often found in the Caribbean.
Defend the Caribbean if you must... but no need to bash Bermuda to do so.

Keep on traveling, AsheGirl. I've been to Bhutan, Laos, and North Korea as travel highlights, it you want to talk about it.
But obviously, a depressed drunk's day trip away from his cruise ship in Bermuda is the must-read we're all waiting for.
And yet, and yet, Bermuda, a place that solely exists for bogus duty free shopping is somehow not a tourist trap.
