It is my husband who vowed to be faithful, to not cheat, to love and honor me, not Ms.Bentley or the attractive secretary at work or the stripper at the beach. So if my husband were to stray, it would be him I hold accountable, not the woman he cheats with--it is my husband whose loyalty should be to me (unless that woman were my mother or sister or whatever). And I trust my husband enough to be left alone with Ms. Bentley or any other attractive woman. I am comfortable enough with my body and sexuality to not feel threatened by other women, especially not because they're hotter than me. I evem watch and enjoy p**nography with my husband as well as alone. And temptation generally comes through a door intentionally left open.
So, yes, I think I would still be a free thinker. My aunt and uncle met while married to other people and cheated on their spouses with one another. They have now been together for nearly 30 years and are the happiest, most loving and nonjudgmental Christians I know. They're choice to commit adultery was never solely based on sexual attraction, although chemistry does help. They were both married to people who did not fulfill their emotional and/or spiritual needs; they just so happened to find each other.
You seem very bothered by the idea of a woman who will sleep with a married man as you have mentioned it several times. I personally don't believe that the other woman is to blame but recognize that it is easier to blame a stranger than to imagine the man you love doing something that hurts you.
And I am glad that your beliefs and morals mean so much to you and are so clearly defined. I respect that and do not believe you are wrong. Your morals, however, are different from mine; my morals, as well as Ms Bentley's, are not "less moral" than yours or better than yours. They're different. (I believe that is what separates a "free thinker" from someone who is "close minded")

I have to believe these comments were made when the idiot from yesterday claimed to have called the Ashe county sheriff and the Wilkes county sheriff and they both commented they had no use for our site owner (dont think I can use his name without going to review). That's all sweet in theory, but you still missed one point. Prostitution is still illegal in most states, including NC. Wow. I have read through this close minded, judgmental garbage until I can no longer stand not to defend Laura Bentley and her entire family. I went to middle and high school with the lovely blonde, had her dad as a teacher, stayed the night at her house and vice versa, and later chose her mother's day care as the facility to place my own son in. Was she promiscuous in high school? Not any more or less than the rest of us. Was she a cheerleader? Yes. She was also in all honors classes and despite what someone said earlier about her upbringing, the entire family went to church every Sunday. Her dad was a very influential high school social studies teacher who, quite honestly, helped create an entire generation of free thinkers in an otherwise conservative small town. She had a great childhood, no abuse or discipline issues. And, honestly, we are all adults at this point....isn't it time to quit blaming Mom and Dad and start accepting responsibility for our actions/choices? If my daughter grows up to be a millionaire or a janitor or an adult film star or a Pulitzer prize winner, am I going to love her any more or less? No, that would make me a ****y mother. Am I going to look at her and say that if she's happy, I'm happy for her? Yes, no matter what she chooses as her calling.
With that said, "Laura Bentley" is not doing anything that every other woman of our generation hasn't done; she is simply brave enough to admit to it, film it, and be black & white about the cost. Let's face it ladies, every weekend that you spend at the bowling alley, going home with some guy who spent $47 on food and drinks on you before taking you back to his place for an unfulfilling screw followed by the awkward morning after....that is charging some guy for the privilege of your company, for the opportunity to have sex with you. If you've made a guy wait until the third date, made him pay for everything before laying down with him, that is also getting paid for sex. Every time you let a man put his penis inside some part of your body, there is some cost and some benefit/profit. That is how human interaction and relationships work. Ms Bentley is simply placing a higher price on herself than the cost of eating at the local brewery before having c*cktails at Black Jack's. For some ladies the price is (allegedly) a diamond ring and the promise of love till death do us part; for Ms. Bentley, its about $500 an hour and she doesn't have to question the mans intentions or wonder if he will call again or hope no one finds out.
As for the adult films, if the sex makes you uncomfortable, isn't that something inside of you? Something that maybe someone told you shouldn't arouse you or that you think is something only bad girls do? Or maybe you are insecure about your body or your relationship or your ability to please in the sack? If your God thinks it is so wrong, let him handle it. I don't ask my god to punish or fix you because of the way you like to get off, no matter who your dad is.
