if that is the case, closure will never come.

From what I read from a charlotte reporter its looking like a suicide.

Actually this will establish more questions than answers. If she did not die at her own hand or by natural causes, this family will be dragged through more fecal matter than you can imagine. The manhunt for the person responsible for the death, the self blame game, the confrontation of the perp in print and finally in person at trial......this is far from closure for this poor family. This is like salt in a ten day old wound.

At the least the family can find a bit of closure in knowing she was found.

Well Dawg, as a matter of fact I haven't looked much further than all the rooms here in the house.. Nothing found, so I guess I will leave the remainder of the searching to the professionals, while I occupy myself hot rock mobiling...

But thanks for your concern...

The charlotte observer has more details from the family - in short it raises the specter of a possible date rape prior to her disappearance and while that might not have anything to do with the rape behind the football stadium - who knows.

I don't see the need to be bickering of who is doing what in the investigation, or to be trying to lay blame on the so called "barneys" at this time, the main objective is to find this girl.....

As a new freshman it's not likely that she had any friends that knew her very well in the dorm where she lives. I would not be surprised that half of what the first investigators was told was wrong, well-intentioned, but wrong.

I don't know the detectives over there but in the past when I was around such, I found that female detectives and old fatherly types did the best job getting the most truth out of a student. The other rape in the area is also worrisome and turf between 4-5 policing agents is always an issue. Between the U, the Town, the Sherriff, HP, and SBI no one wants to think they can't solve something.

And in a case like this, most work under the assumption that the girl has run off with a boy because that's what they want the outcome to be.

We might point toward the inability of the barneys to professionally get the information from the students.

Keep in mind they are having to deal with college students who may think they are protecting a friend or don't get what may be relevant.

I am basing my assumptions on the words "struggling to get information from friends". Makes one think the barneys are playing turf war, yet again.

I'm not sure if that is the case this time. However, the odds are good. ASU police is a full fledged department (technically) and has jurisdiction on campus. So everything has I start with them, and then the real cops have to work with them. And all of the things I've said before about stereo typical Barney Fifes is 100% accurate in regards to the ASU police. Basically, they hire the rejects that the town and county departments reject.

In other words to put it bluntly the barneys have blundered again.
