Then its not going to be an office. I bet they are going to put it on the ground, The DOT is liable if anyone gets hurt on any of the properties they have bought.

Lets see wood floors so no problem there I'm not sure about the siding but the house is missing half the windows a couple doors and is full of mold from water coming in the missing windows.

Asbestos is only a problem if you disturb it and get the particles airborne. That's why it has to be mediated before knocking it down. All of our subs and aircraft carriers still have asbestos in them, as do many military facilities.

Na, I'll bet the DOT guys told the truth. They work for the Wilkes Division with the inmates in maintenance. Their boss probably got an email that said to go mow it. No need to explain why to the prisoners.

Seems the dot has become blatant in doing as they please. I have a feeling they knew exactly why they were there mowing. Now the dot boys have become liars also.

I saw the asbestos part. That doesn't mean they can't use it for a year or two first. I'd say it has flooring or outdoor siding that has asbestos.

Did you miss the part about it being marked for asbestos removal and going by the other house and two trailers I seen done in the same area the house will be gutted.

I will bet the dot is going to use that house as a construction office.

I find it amazing that 3 DOT employee's were actually working!! Are you sure they weren't just standing around observing?

Did anyone else notice the 3 DOT workers with 3 state pickups and 3 inmates mowing a yard on 221 south across from Brice Greens saw mill today? A house that is in the ROW of the road project and is marked for asbestos removal. Between mowing and weed eating I bet they mowed almost a acre of land.

Isn't it funny how the DOT claims it doesn't have enough money to keep up the roads and needs the gas tax raised but it can waste money by sending all these people and equipment to mow a yard that is going to be ripped out in a few months.

I stopped and asked them why they were mowing around the house and old barn. The state worker told me he had no idea why they were told to come out and mow the yard.
