We took our holiday houseguests there for lunch last weekend and it was just ok. We've eaten at Pigs Fly too in the past and I never thought it was great either.

We really should have a good bbq joint in Ashe and I am not too fond of Smoky Mountain either, though the people that work there are very nice. Maybe if they fire this shrew of a woman, it may improve at NRB.

Maybe it is just me but I never liked the food at Pigs fly. Couldn't figure the bbq out.

She didn't do all the cooking at Pigs Fly either.

Not sure if she's still there, but she designed the menu and most of the offerings are her own from Pigs Fly.

She is/was the GM. They have cooks.

Was she the only cook they had?

I would try it too if I knew she was gone. She hasn't ever liked me. So I was blocked years ago from seeing her posts. That's what she likes to do so she can talk crap and get pity from others. You can't defend yourself if you are blocked.

All right, let's steer this thread back to what it should be about. Is the GM still employed there or not? I wouldn't mind going there as long as she's not there. I find it interesting that she locked down her social media in the aftermath of all this. She used to have everything public, so I guess she got took down a few notches and was told to stop posting where everybody could see it.

As I said Tabs, I joined a few years back but didn't post much or look in until recently.

I joined goashe a few years back because I was interested in some local news that was happening at the time. It was being discussed here. Then I didn't look in or post for a very long time.

Recently I started thinking about the 2020 local elections and remembered this site. I thought it might be a good resource for learning about the local political races.

Also, I promised myself that in the coming year I will try to be less isolated and more social. This is my attempt to do so but it's pretty discouraging to come here and post personal, honest, real stuff about my life and have it be met with such disbelief and skepticism.

So how did you even hear of GoAshe if you do not use any other social media form? This site sure isn't advertised. It gets referenced on FB from time to time. It isn't something that just pops up in casual conversation in restaurants/bars. So yeah not buying it!

Well, that was about as clear as mud.

I don't know anything about this mysterious "other place" that cannot be named. I may have mentioned that I don't do ANY other social media, not FB, not Instagram, no Reddit, no nothing and never have. Nor do I even ever read those sites.

This is it for me - right here - my one and only online presence.

I assumed the "we" included you but perhaps not & if so I apologize. I don't understand why I am being dragged into whatever grudge you have against NRB. I don't have anything to do with them.

Your reading comprehension is lacking. Nowhere did I say you were either of the 2 parties.

It's not me billy and hikingmom! I have absolutely nothing whatsoever do with NRB. I have dined there a few times and felt short-changed on the wine pour, that's it.
