McMillan? Seriously! He is about as shady as that big maple tree. We want more jobs in the county - not less! Remember Virginia Foxx having a little talk with him when he was county manager? I would hope that after we rid him of co mgr... it would be the end. But then on the other hand there are some very stupid voters out there. Down right ignorant...... If he gets it, it will confirm my belief in some peoples stupidity...

Just like some of the posters on here that claim to live here and actually live in other states. All you have to do is give your name as Jesus Pedroza. He lives every wear.

You got me this time fins. I only got to vote in 5 counties. I only had one county to school me on having a photo id next election. I guess we may need to get started on getting those fake id's from your source at the dmv.

I think you are wrong on the sales tax increase and hagan. I'm iffy on sands only because I want all the pricks out.

NSA - i hope you are wrong about Sands....but I think you have hit the winners. Just once, I'd like to really drain that county swamp. Then maybe, the commissioners wouldn't be so smug about not listening to people in the county.

Fins I have already voted twice with no problems. I am on my way to see if I can get in three more counties.
Remember to vote the "bum" out, prick. Two down one to go.

ONLYIN ASHE, I see a difference between the terms obligation and responsibility. I see no Obligation but a moral responsibility for healthcare. I believe in smaller less intrusive governments in our moral responsibilities. Economic development is an obligation for civic leaders. This obligation should be carried out in a studied manner that ensures that tax payers receive benefits for their investments. Transparency/Accountability should be apparent throughout that process. Those words presently are interpreted as "Smoke and Mirrors" once an election is complete.
ehsaog, I agree this thread was started in hopes that folks would speak up about what they KNEW about the candidates not what they had HEARD. Like you I have settled on two of the candidates that I believe have a background that is conducive to providing decent decisions for the future of the county. I am a little concerned as most seem to say the same things at the open forums without a lot of details. I suspect very few are familiar with the current budget.

While all these side discussions about what the current set of commissioners has done and is doing based on voting by all five on the board I am very interested in how a difference can be made from the appointment date on based on who we elect as new commissioners or who we leave in office. The hospital bail out or whatever we want to call it is a done deal. The airport is a done deal. This county needs economic growth, continued support of most services offered and good management of the operational fund. of the candidates where do we get those results? I have settled on two candidates as I think most have based on the primary results. The third unknown candidate may again be the one that needs to be aligned with the rest to promote the best agendas for our county. What to the candidates bring that offers the kind of support we need?
Brien Richardson, Jeff Rose, Cabot Hamilton, Dan McMillan, Joesph Miller - Sands and Blackburn seemed to predominately carry the primary.
Just for a moment what do the other five bring to the table as an offering of commitment and service to the county and not just their own agenda?

Troll, do you feel that the County has any responsibility or obligation to pay for Healthcare and Economic Development?
