It was where the Friendly shoe store is now - between Hartman Music and Wiles Jewelry

I can remember as a kid going with dad to WJ Hardware and unloading Barb wire and fence post directly off the train into the back of the truck. But I don't remember roses being in WJ.

Ah the good ole days, when Roses was in the two story building in downtown West Jefferson, A&P grocery was located by the present Wilco location, and Central Foods market was on the far end of WJ......

I can remember when the bowers family had "Midway lumber company" before they built the roses and lowes.

You know its been so long I am surprise any one remembers that being the old roses store. Just the other day I was telling my kids about that and Lowes food where tractor supply is or that there was a Hardees and a grocery store behind the wilco in WJ.

For some reason I can't copy the email attachment I got. Frank Packard from Todd will be there with a presentation and trying to answer questions that the public has. I know that Frank has been very outspoken against the intake from a conservation stand point.

Will gerry and the rest of the mouth breathers be there? Would be a good time for a paper boy to do an interview with gerry about his trials with the banks. I would bet some real out of town paper boys will be at this one.

I just was informed that on April 22 at 6pm there will be a public meeting concerning the Boone water intake. It will be at Faith Fellowship church.
