Those signs are LED. The power is negligible. It wouldn't even show a difference.

The BOE is the major issue allowing these things to occur. If it would do any good I would go!!! The Board is another issue entirely, they are the ones that hired her....These BOE meetings need to be streamed online so everyone can see what is going on. The size of the meeting room is not large enough to hold all the employees much less the general public.

Really no use in beating this dead horse any longer because all it does is stink, but it would not do any good to file any complaint about the current superintendent with the school board as it would only point out how naive and clueless they are for promoting her. Teachers and other personnel are continuing to leave the county for neighboring counties and it does leave one to wonder why. It would be interesting to find out how many employees have left since PY took her job. I already know someone is going to say that many of them retired but I know firsthand that some retired due to the frustration with the current leadership in our county. Ashe used to never lose teachers to resignation, especially to neighboring counties, but things are very different now.

Yates still shouldn't be a Superintendent of Schools (no matter who she knows), educators need to have a leader that knows what it is like to work in a classroom and a building administrator. Otherwise they will not respect her decisions and especially her favoritism toward her daughters school. There should not be a 12 month assistant principal at her daughter's school, Blue Ridge when no other elementary school in the counts has that.

Her career is all over the internet and twitter. So to make the statement its none of your business is ignorant on your part. And you cant give the parents credit for her career be it a paid sl*t or a CEO. Deal with it they obviously are.

This thread is so utterly **** up it makes me sick. This board member you are speaking of is an excellent person teacher and asset to our community. Both he and his wife are upstanding citizens and have other, wonderful children who have taken amazing paths in life. Do you think a person chooses that life for their children? How dare you judgemental bigots blame the actions of a grown *** woman on her parents. You all should be ashamed of yourselves these people deserve privacy their children's careers are none of your business and do not reflect their personal integrity. God forbid any of your children take a ****y road in life. Dumb***es

I'm baffled by all this talk of "advancement" in this thread and the Sheriff thread. This is a TINY county, one of the smallest in the state. Your best shot at advancement is to MOVE, advance your career in a larger market. Go away from mommy and daddy and spend time in the big city, THEN, move back. Otherwise, you're sitting around here waiting for your superior to go get ****canned, retire or die.

Burleyman- it was interesting reading your post and I can tell you have worked hard to obtain and keep what you have today. Things are much more valuable when hard work and sweat have been attached to them. I especially like this point you made.

This multigenerational last name game that's being played is the unfair thing that I think many posters are trying to point out and when tax dollars are funding positions and supplement pay the playing field needs to be leveled so that all have a chance to play and advance themselves regardless of their last name.
I also especially like your last comment about the divide among teachers and administrators and the haves and have nots as this is a problem across many occupations with so little room for advancement for the "working man".
