3rd. All Shatley Paving was doing was putting in paper joints to make the transition a little smoother until the final layer of asphalt is laid down.
Trevor, you and your flunky need to get your stories straight. You were supposed to fix the joints so they were smooth. You didn't. You do shoddy work.

I notice Maymead is doing the paving today. Is that because maybe they do a better job?

Oh we are the cheapest? I would love to show you the article in the newspaper stating that we were underbid by Tri County for a street in town by $8000 but they chose us. Is that because of the “crappy work we do”?

Why does everyone think we are the ones that put a butt joint in?!?! We don’t even own a milling machine! I know the bumps are bad but y’all need to stop blaming us for it. I would really like to know how we are responsible for milling a butt joint without a milling machine

Trevor, you left butt joints with no smooth transition and one of your other flunkies came on here and denied it. I think a nine y/o retard knows when you leave a big hump in the road. So you reap what you sow.

Treavor, you aren’t preaching to some yokels here. Let me share some basic economic facts with you. The reason Shapley has so much work is because they are willing to do work the cheapest. Unfortunately for the taxpayers, that usually translates into the shoddiest work.

There are a lot of crappy paving companies because there are lots of cheap customers. Just because they have customers doesnt mean they are good

Seriously? Wow, I’m taken back by the ignorance and disrespect you all have. Who do you think you are? You start a pointless conversation complaining about things you have NO CONTROL OVER like the world revolves around you. Shatley paving is doing the job they are asked to do. Obviously they do their job well or they wouldn’t have as much business as they do. Go ahead and act big and bad behind a stupid name that took you too long to pull out of your ***. Of course no one likes road work, but **** happens so get over it. Plan your route around it. It will happen weather you like it or not. Grow up and stop with your overplayed immature drama.

Trevor, you just stepped in a world of **** and dont even realize it. First of all, if it wasnt for Wiley or Vannoys, there would still be paved roads, because someone else would have filled the gap. As the Auctioneer mentioned the name Paul Brown, he was paving roads and building asphalt plants in this part of the world before Wiley or any of the Vannoys had a pot to piss in. Ask your boss. Im pretty sure they bought plenty of asphalt from him before you were a twitch in your Daddy's balls. And he took quality of work seriously. He paved roads that lasted over 20 years before needing paved again. Not like the crap Wiley puts down.
And secondly, I mentioned quality. well, I think enough has already been said. You are already probably about to break down and cry.

My name is Trevor and I am the superintendent for Shatley Paving. I really don't appreciate the way you folks have talked about our company. We are just trying to make a living like everyone else is. For the ones who have something against Wiley Roark, you can thank him for having paved roads to drive on period. If it wasn't for Vannoys and Maymead we would be driving on gravel roads. The paving will be finished on 221 within the next couple weeks so please stop talking trash about us. Thank you!

He has yet to live outside the county. He hopes to move in September. Thus, his resignation.

I think we all had the notion that Wiley was poking Elmer Fudd and the rest of the commissioners. Not to mention the planning board. Just noticed today on the Ashe county line that the former chairman resigned the board. An attorney by trade. Wonder how long he has lived outside the county? I may can answer that with some research.

That’s because Paul didn’t do thinks just to inflate his own ego like Wiley does. He didn’t care if he was the biggest or only game in town as long as he was making money. He was also all for others making money as long as it didn’t cost him something. Wiley is a short fat man with a self esteem problem thst has to compensate by trying to be napoleon.

Joseph T. | Posted 3:13 pm, 08/05/2018 | What I and some inspectors I have talked to don't understand is how Maymead doesn't run afoul of the law since the NC constitution forbids monopolies. Maymead owns all the local plants and can price everyone else out since there is no where else to buy asphalt. |
Paul Brown just thought he was slick, not even in the same league as Wiley. They are bidding off jobs with the state that they cannot hope to complete and subbing them out to their competitors.

Wonder if Maymead could secretly be funding the Protect Our Fresh Air group? I'm sure those air time spots they have on the radio------ where they want us to tell the commissioners to keep the new asphalt plant out------don't come cheap.

Because no on has challenged them or gotten the state to charge them on trade violations. Not only do they own all the asphalt plants, they also own all of their sources for materials. They even own their own liquid asphalt distributor. Wiley once said no one could compete with him because he could give the stuff away if he wanted to
