I'm pretty sure he served one tour overseas. I don't think there would be much to hide in his 214, but it's probably pretty thin. No combat tours and nothing significant to note...kind of like his resume. One tour in Germany, then back to NC.

Bufurt said at Mondays commissioners meeting he was not a political guy. BULL. Sending letters home is just a scheme to get his name in front of people in a feel good way. Maybe he wants to be seen as associated with the schools now that they are so highly rated statewide. And now we find out that he went to the principals before he went to the Superintendent. The curriculum, schedules and budget are set and finalized long before that. With the sheriffs office and jail being such a mess, how do you have time for anything else? I've never met a combat veteran who would not produce his/her DD214? My bet is bufort went to basic and couldn't hack it, so he was discharged with a medical or even worse an uncharacterized discharge. Then he beged Blackwater to let him play security officer. But make no mistake, bufort was never a combat veteran, nor has he ever pulled a tour over seas! He has no leadership. Ask the employees who are still there? 2018 Go Absher!

I'm starting to really question if his military service ever actually happened.
