Ashehomegrll Dogbreath and dungbeetle continue to do what they do best. According to them they are the money behind Jason Carlton and this site. I'm not sure if Jason wants this site to fail or what exactly he is thinking. Now its a shame these officers lost their lives doing their jobs. My main question is from what I have read, is if this man had been causing problems over the weekend, should extra caution have not been taken when going into the situation or did these offices not know of the weekend problems. I don't think gun control is the answer but control is. I grew up around guns and was raised not to pull a gun unless you mean to use it. I was pushed too far once and would have used one to defend my home. It took a lot of pushing to that point but once I was there I could have killed. I don't ever intend to be pushed that far again. The government is trying to use these incidents as a means of control, because a citizenry of unarmed people is easier to control. I feel for the people involved and the families. You have a right to your opinion as do I andone is going to tell me I can't give that opinion. But if some on this forum continue I will walk away. I can live without humiliation or ridicule which I have been subjected to here for over 16 years.

Dogitty dog - I didn't say a single un-nice thing. I said I feel sorry for the people who love the 5 (now dead) people whose deaths came about as a result of this unfortunate situation. Their suffering must be unbearable.

I happen to think gun control would do us all a favor in preventing future incidents of this kind.

I don't pray (and I sure don't look in or post here much anymore) but I do feel very sad for the families who are dealing with the sudden, brutal grief of losing someone they love so needlessly.

BOONE � A law enforcement-related situation is currently taking place in the area of Browns Chapel Road and Hardaman Circle. The public is warned to stay away, according to Watauga County Communications telecommunicator Melissa Harmon.

According to scanner traffic, off duty personnel were advised to respond to their stations. Scanner traffic also indicated that landing zones were being set up in the area. Watauga Rescue was dispatched to the scene at Browns Chapel Road for "staging" around 11:43 a.m.

Watauga County Emergency Services posted to social media that all residents in the area should shelter in place and should "remain in your home with doors and windows closed."

Ashe County Sheriff B. Phil Howell said the Ashe County Sheriff's Office is assisting with the situation and sent a specialized recovery vehicle to the scene as support.
