Kid, I can't find anything on multiple shootings, but here's an interesting article about research performed by a former officer. It's believed that police have a 15 to 20 percent hit ratio.

And yes i know no city, town or community is immune to violence and hostile situations. I would also like to add if I was a LEO in their shoes I would expect the utmost scrutiny and question my own choice in careers and rational ability to handle pressure in serious situations.

I would like to know the statistics on LEO's involved in multiple deadly force situations in their career. I mean given cities like Chicago, NYC, ect would be on a larger scale due to the violence and gangs. I would also say that those LEO's have had shots fired at them.... It just throws a huge red flag up to me and really do not know why people jump to their defense. When exactly did the law become above the law.... And why is it I can sit and watch cops along with other show and the Tazer has become the weapon of choice to neutralize a hostile subject?

I've talked to a few cops that worked with guys involved in shootings, or knew a cop on another department that was involved in a shooting. In just about every case, it really messed the cop up. Most ended up resigning. I think OCM has said the same thing about officers he saw that were involved in shootings. Does anyone know if these three even took any leave after the first time? I don't mean just the required time during the investigation. The idea that three deputies could be involved in one shooting and not bothered by it enough to find the same ones in another shooting is completely scary.

Pointman I still have not read all of the civil complaint but enough to ask the question why the sheriff, two barneys, and the sbi agents that investigated are not out of jobs and in hand cuffs awaiting trial. The sbi proved that Howell was a liar that night and pig man was a blood thirsty raging moron.

If I were on that jury, the widow would be owning the airport, jail and courthouse. I'm totally embarrassed that I ever took up for James . We have known about and complained about the arrogant baronies for years, but this takes the cake. James......resign.

Like pointman I feel as if our sheriff has lied. This leads to the question what else has he and his staff of barneys lied about. Were this case against the barneys to proceed to trial and the sheriff is put on the stand then the family would win big. In a civil case like this proof beyond a doubt is not necessary. The barneys lawyers best interest is to settle this one before the sheriff makes it to the stand.

That's exactly what Nat Geo wants. That fat moron is great for ratings. It's the same as why Eustace Conway is on tv. The show doesn't care how they make the area look.

Houck didn't fire back per the court deposition. I'm sure ballistics and gun powder residue test were done on both victims. So it's obvious that the officers are abusing their power over their firearms.

Secondly, if just a fraction of the allegations mentioned in that lawsuit are correct, I will owe the supporters of the deceased a profound apology. We were told by the sheriff the deputies were fired upon, and if that is not the case our sheriff is a liar. I hate to say that. I've always supported James Williams and have voted for him each time he has run for sheriff, but if he lied to the fine people of Ashe......

One would think Nat Geo wouldn't film his hide knowing these things. The whole show makes us look like ignorant hillbillies with nothing better to do than to keep Hoppy hopping. Thus with all the unnecessary shootings such as st Louis, you'd think Nat Geo would run for the hills. I'm.hearing that Hoppy was the one who shot shatley 2 while being dragged.

What pissed me off more than anything the last time was pork chop kicked and beat the man after he emptied 2 clips in him.... Says a whole lot for his demeanor and mind set.

Take away his gun and badge and the extra protections from the law that he has and he wouldn't be such a tough guy.

It said Hopkins fired AT LEAST 2 magazines at Houck.. It also said Houck had to"calm" Hoppy down after Houck was gunned down.. I wonder what was recorded on car cam off this shooting?

One can only hope they have enough common sense to cut the loose ends.

I don't know what pistol they carry but I would bet that they have a 15 round capacity and if you read the link that Tom L posted it said that Hopkins( I think ) reloaded .

Joesph, if three officers were shooting did they reload and keep shooting to fire 40 rounds? How many rounds does their gun hold?

I would like to know how these cops passed their shooting quals since they fired 40 rounds and only 9 hit Mr. Houck.
