Oh what the heck let me guess again.

Let's see, do you think that someone who is willing to get off their hiney to work at Walmart for a living only has value as a human being if they have learned teammwork from high school basketball? Should they bond at the Walmart or else get fired?
Or do you think that the ones who go to college for 15 years just killing time waiting to grow up should care less about teammwork and basketball because it will make no personal selves in the long run?

I'm trying Fins, I really am. Am I getting warmer? Can I have another hint?

I can always count on you to prove my point, even though you have no clue you are doing so.

If anyone ever wonders why so many Ashe students set their life goals as working at Walmart, I'll point them to this thread.

Hmm?? Maybe the chemistry teacher wants to take a mandatory field trip to have their students watch some one who got a chemistry scholarship to college do some chemistry? Amiright??

Who said anything about English class being a team activity?

Let's try a real simple one. What's the name of the chemistry teacher?

Why, are they making Suzy bond with the people in her senior English class during the summer too? I can't figure how that would help her be a better student. Keep trying, fins. Maybe I'll understand eventually what you're trying to say.

Of course you missed the point. Let's try again. Who teachers senior English?

I'm missing your point. Are the AP teacher and basketball coach one and the same?

What about the AP US History teacher? Did they resign too?

Calling it a leadership problem sounds like blame shifting to me. Are you putting that on the coaches or the AD or the principals bbfan? I saw where the men's varsity coach stepped down today too. Is that related to this discussion?

Btw, have any of you ever once put this much concern into who is the algebra teacher?

Just what qualifications does someone have to have to coach 2A high school girls team? Isn't that the point where new coaches start their careers? Hoping in a few years they can move up to a men's sport and then find their way up to a real division?

Sounds to me like this is a leadership problem both with ACHS and in the basketball program itself. Nobody wants to follow a bad leader.

Her only connection to the previous coach was through the assistant coaches she had at the time. Anyone close to that story knows why. Which again speaks to the wonderful character of our current coach.

I'd say they thought she was the best fit in carrying out the previous coach's legacy. Didn't she assist with the coaching in the years before Foster left?

Agreed, she should've never been hired to coach the team. However is that her fault or the folks that hired her? How many others applied, my guess is not many!!

It is so interesting to see how these message boards get so off track. The current coach was never qualified to begin with. Up until they gave her the job she had never coached anything but rec league sports. One posted about how good the teams have been and why she has not been able to compete, well talent will only get you so far. Every team needs and deserves a coach that can put that talent in the right place, and where it will best serve the team not the coach/individual. This coach has been about the individual ever since she started. Covid gave us all the opportunity to see the true colors of these two coaches. One rumor that has been going around was how they pushed for only a certain player to get to play when the varsity team was quarantined. They did not care about the other players and if they played or not. Just the one. Calling and emailing the school. Check it out the assistant coach even admits to "family first" on social media while another family member tries to defend the hostile environment. I don't know all these girls personally but listening to the stories I have been told, I wouldn't play for them either. It is sad that some of these kids have had to put up with this for three years. I think a few others over the past couple years have said screw it and quit. I think the girls varsity team has been in the top ten gpa percentage in the entire state for the past 6-7 years, it appears they work hard academically and deserve the opportunity to play for a coach that believes in the team not the individual. Covid put the games online for us all to enjoy. Go watch a few and see if you would put up with the screaming, the negative body language, being singled out in front of the entire gym when you mess up. I sure wouldn't do it and I wouldn't expect these girls to do it either. What is even crazier is why you would stay on as a coach knowing that the major majority of the team didn't want to play for you. Only one good reason, got to be there in two years to start the cycle over!

Just another outsider with an opinion looking in.

What is your suggestion? Let's keep raising a generation of individuals that are entitled? News flash it is just a game anyway. Like I said they aren't going PRO. When they are in the workforce after college they have to learn to work as a team. So that includes having a bond.

Bond or be cut. Comply or be canceled. Yall have any more healthy game winning leadership advice for all the coaches out there?

Clearly they don't enjoy winning or they would try to improve team morale.

I can't believe so many of you are disrespecting kids. Very disappointing!! Coaches are used to being judged, they can handle it. Kids dont need it and dont deserve it.

The majority of high school players are not playing sports with hopes of a scholarship (those that get that opportunity are few and far between). Most play high school sports because they love the sport. The kids that have been fortunate enough to get an opportunity to play at college ball are very good players. I cant think of one Ashe female basketball player in recent memory that didn't finish out their college career.

Regardless, if the coach ask you to do something you do it. If you dont want to do it because of the coach then dont play!I honestly cant believe Ashe girls basketball has dropped so low. Times have sure changed.
