Any player not willing to do team bonding to improve team performance should be cut on the spot.

Got me there again Fins. What can I say? What if my little Suzy feels like she's only there to help the first string practice at the high school level? You think that might be why she is pushing back against any bonding time off the court? Nothing in if for her but sacrifice with no reward.

Most end up coming back home after a semester because they have been coddled and can't make it. For the ones that don't come home, most are only there for the first and second string to have people to practice against. And I don't think any have gone division 1.

So one is going PROFESSIONAL? If you are talking about college recruitment that isn't making it big. A lot of those that get recruited from here and Allegheny included don't make it very far at all. They may see some playing time, but that's not making it big. Bless your heart is all I can say.

Didn't one just sign up to "make it big"?

What do you bet next years team will make a few bonding field trips to watch her play?

The character of this athletes withstand their athletic skills. So let's deal that. I would be very surprised if any of these girls "make it big".

That is their job. Just wtf do you think they are hired for? To make your little Suzy feel special?

Well Fins you convinced me as usual. Every high school coach's main priority should be to win at all costs and do whatever it takes to get a handful of the players recruited. Why did I ever think to question you. My bad.

How do you think high school players ever make it to the college level? God, you high school sports parents are complete moroons. You whine and cry about how important sports are then you piss and moan over when the coaches try to make the players into winners. We should just fire all the coaches and let you arm chair quarterbacks coach. I've been in favor of defunding high school sports anyway.

All I am saying is that I would hate for the current coach to end up like the previous one did trying to buck the parents and force relationships that are not naturally there. High school kids do not need to have the same kind of loyalty to a coach as college level players and should not be expected to sacrifice themselves for the one or two that do try to play in college. It just causes resentment and team division instead of the other way around.

Actually, team bonding is a well proven method to improve performance of any team. Be it sports or a career oriented team. It also exposes the dedication or lack of by the members. If players aren't willing to do it, it just proves they don't care.

I mean maybe those girls don't want to be friends. Maybe they want to play ball with each other and spend their summer and bonding time with their actual friends.

I thought the point of being a team was to actually like each other and to get a long with everyone. It was back in my days of high school. I mean yeah it is a silly saying, but there is no I in team.

I never did understand the concept of forced team bonding. That was a thing with the previous coach too. Nobody appreciates it and nobody plays basketball better because of it either.

So you're a bunch of lazy spoiled brats unwilling to work. Typical.

As ridiculous as this seems, for some reason this site seems to be the only thing that gets people talking about how bad the current situation really is. She has pressured us for three weeks now about summer activities and we do not have any desire to spend our summer playing for the current coach. She has tried to pressure us into playing when it should be optional. We said no to team bonding, we said no to camp, we said no to scrimmages and we said no to beach tournaments as well. What else do we need to say? We know of 9 parents that have been actively talking to school officials. Hopefully someone will soon understand how we feel and take some action.

Nothing is more important than dominating high school sports

All I can say is that last year's team and this year's team has more talent than any Ashe County girls team that I have ever seen. I remember when the Huskies dominated and I think these past couple of yrs had more talent. So that's either the coach doesn't get much out of her kids or the kids don't play as hard as they once did. Who knows?!

Time for a few boys to pretend to be women... and make history! It doesnt matter what biological sex you are boys... It is a matter of, asking yourself.... "do you want to be a girl today" and you ll make history...!

Well, at least the team is not like the boys JV team that is full of redneck racists that almost got beat up by a group of individuals from another school after hearing a player making monkey sounds toward the opposing player. Only punishment was missing a game.
