I'd rather suggest they quit and take an extra class or pick up trash on the road sides.

I agree with sickofit90 we need a change. If our administration truly cares about our student athletes they will take a good look at this situation and realize they are not giving these kids the best that they can. Some of the stories these girls are coming home telling are totally unacceptable. From what I can tell all of the parents and players are extremely frustrated and unhappy so my suggestion would be to get everyone together and have a meeting with the athletic director to see if you could fix this situation

I wish y'all would quit being a bunch of wimps cause
A. Your daughter sucks and you can't seem to see that
B. You have nothing to do in your spare time and you complain
You say they have skills to go to college with but in collage they will be pushed harder than they ever been in there life 6a.m practices and screaming like you never seen before. so quit being such wimp that you can't see that your own daughter sucks and is not going to go anywhere

Well Dog, it's about 1% of 1% that make it on to the pros. As for the number with CTE, that's hard to say because the science keeps finding more data and the numbers are through the roof. It's thousands of times more than the number that get a paycheck from playing children's games for a living.

OK Dung Beetle this is how it goes: There are injuries in all physical sports and very few high school athletes make it to the college teams also, very few college athletes make it to the pro's. Nevertheless, with very few exceptions the pro. football and basketball teams comprise of players that came up through the school systems.

Yep, keeps trying to make this about her...

Sickofit90 maybe this isn't the place to air your concerns. An athletic director or school administrator would have been the place to go with this not social media like so immature teenager.

fins - did you ever have to go out knocking on your neighbor's doors to sell Krisby Kreme donuts to fundraise money? One year they sent us out to sell toothbrushes, another it was "emergency" candles that were for when the power lines went down...anything to buy the necessary uniforms we had to have to compete with the other HS school bands in the region.

God bless David Phillips who was a true pioneer & mentor that worked very hard to establish a great music program for us kids back then! It's not about me - being in a marching band means teamwork, not individual glory.

How about you? I'm betting that you were a genuinely unlikeable butthead in high school. I doubt that you had many (any?) female companions in your youthful years either. Lemme guess...zits a-plenty & a nasty personality to match?

Someone had to try to make it about her again...

Yeah, why would anyone want a future of a fully educated society

I think the high school band "geeks" deserve more $.

I'm a first generation NWA marching mountaineer and probably the only girl who EVER gave up cheerleading to play trombone in marching band. I personally would have chosen the flute or maybe clarinet but my dad "won" an old beat up trombone in a drunken poker game way back when - so that was my instrument. After a couple of years, I took up tuba & used to carry that giant thing in every Xmas parade in 4 counties.

Someone tell piss ant the percentage of high school sports that go professional. Then tell him the percentage with head injuries, and maimed for life from sports in high school.

Ok Billy where do college athletes come from and where do professional athletes come from ? What is one of the largest money making industries and biggest employers in the USA? And what is one of the most successful industries at delivering its product despite the pandemic? Professional sports.

I hope your not one of those people who believe that extra curricular subjects are a waste of the taxpayer's money, I'm a taxpayer and I would hate to think the future generation would consist of nothing but academic geeks.

High school sports are a waste of time and resources.

I'm amazed that there are people that get worked up over high school sports. If they would put this much concern into academics, ashe would be much better off

This is the most ridiculous comment I have ever read. This coach LOVES all her players and has every year she has coached. She would do anything for them on and off the court. This coach has helped me through so many encounters through the years on and off the court. Yes, she wants to win and wants her players to play well. However, the accusations that have been made about her in this comment are far more personal rather than you being upset about her coaching style. You need to check yourself because this is her reputation here and making these strong assumptions about her is not okay. I have played for several coaches during my career at achs and you should count your blessings that your daughter is playing for this coach. I can promise you, she (and you for that matter) wouldn't have made it playing for the others if your this upset over a coach most likely raising her voice at her team because she wants them to play to their fullest potential. Keep in mind, these kids can play the game very well and the coach knows that she is talking about. But when the team has been in quarantine and not been able to practice as much as normal, you shouldn't expect them to play as good as seasons past. Furthermore, when it does come time to play in a game, a coach can only give them the materials but THEY have to go out perform and execute it. The coach can't go out and play the game for them and win. The players have to do so. So I wouldn't cast all the blame on the coach. Lastly, if you are so "sick" of this situation, it seems to me like the best thing to do is to have a talk with her? Posting anonymously on goashe will not solve anything.

haha you can pull her stats online and see that for yourself, the stats don't lie

You know I gave you a good way out of this but now you are just mad because the coaches niece is a better player.

sickofit90

aFic= The parents are all about tough coaching and a coach pushing their kids to be better with gaining in skills along the way. What it shouldn't be about is every play setting up your niece to shoot a 3. Or when the players are scared to shoot, that even if they make it their getting screamed at for putting points on the board because they weren't put up by her niece. This is called bias. There en-lies a problem. Though I'm sure you will come back with a smart comment as you do on every thread/post on the community voice.
