So when do you think the state will take over the ACSO?

I thought in an event of criminal activity, the county didn’t have to ask. I thought there were some circumstances where the state could come in and seize control to straighten out issues.

My mother used to say it took money to ride the train......3 commissioners bought a ticket.

The State has plans for that. In a case of mass resignations, dismissals, or illness sweeping through a department. I believe the Board of Commissioners has to ask the State to step in.Of course, it is not free. The city, town, or county requesting assistance is responsible for ALL costs involved. State Troopers, their cars and supervisory personnel do not come cheap.

I think so too. I have heard that everyone but the night shift is under investigation and the investigated are likely to be indicted. Who does that leave to uphold the law? 5 or 6 night shift folks spreads it pretty thin.

So what’s everyone’s guess on when the state will step in and take over operations of the county law enforcement? The way it’s going, I don’t see any other way for it to play out.
