Whats you connection to the dss Dragg? Why all of a sudden is there such a problem in that department?

I'm sure it's Revis calling the shots. Cleaning up 40 year old dust and I'm sure there is lot more where that came from. There has also been several transfers. It's about time that someone got in there and fixed things. My understanding is it's one of the most inefficient departments in the state.

About the only way we get rid of Poe's influence would be to elect a Democrat majority to the County Commissioners this November and have her removed.

She's spent years threatening various county employees and I"m sure at least part of the firings are nothing more than people that wouldn't kowtow to her.

So, is it two fired workers or is it "numerous firings"? I don't think Revis is calling the shots..it's Sexton and Poe.

It appears Revis is shinning some light on issues that have been covered up for the past 40 years by the previous director.

Just how do we get down to who is calling the shots? I still have money on Judy poe. She has a history of making threats against county employees jobs.

DSS is a mess. Has been a mess for many years. It was a mess when Ms. Weaver left, and will continue to be a mess after she passes. There have been numerous workers that have been fired at DSS in the past 2-3 years. No one is safe. They reward the bad workers with jobs such as supervisor. Yes, the recently let go of one of their better workers. I just don't understand it. Corruption is best served with a side of pork.

No I dont blame Sullivan at all for wanting to get a contract for a few more years added on. I do have a problem with the fact that we do have a private ambulance service and we are supposed to bid it out every 6 years to get competitive bids. Again I have not seen the call numbers but one other thing I did hear was Sullivan was dangling a fourth unit. I was one that said if they had 3 units they didn't need to all be piled up in West Jefferson. If I could see the calls I feel sure I would want a unit in Warrensville.

At least two fired DSS staff should have been fired a long time ago. Wasted tax dollars. Do nothings. Left behind a mess. Blaming everyone but themselves.

Revis must not be the yes man Sexton thought he would be. Now saying Revis doesn't have the qualifications to be Director. Wait. What? How is he interim director?

Word has it Tea Party Tracie Jordan has applied for the job. What a disaster that would be.

I don't blame Sullivan for trying to get his contract extended. He has a lot invested in starting up his operation in Ashe. The question is will the Commisioners actually do the right thing.

Hope the fired staff know they have some protection under the State Personnel Act. Does anyone else think it's odd that an interim director would fire staff?

I have heard several sources say Sullivan is courting the manager and the board to extend his contract early. I have not seen any numbers from them since they first started and they were then only running about 3 calls a day. I thought we still bid this service.

I have heard also from several sources that there have been numerous firings in the DSS. I was also told that only one person was allowed to attend their board meetings each month. Is Ms Poe still at it? Retaliation? We told the board to have her removed from every board she serves on.
