I believe this is different from the one requested a few months back. I watched the meeting then and believe it was like 30 jobs in West Jefferson. This one is 10 jobs and a building near the town of Lansing.

I swear we have already been down this road. I even remember Rhodes making the same point. And if memory serves, I was once told who the company is, and it’s one already here that wants to expand.

You worry about environmentally friendliness......we already have several businesses that do not worry about that. The Townes are among them. I do not worry about it either?

Good point Jack. Also what kind of jobs will they bring? In the case of Blevins Building Supply low paying and no benefits. Also we wonder if the new business is environmentally friendly?

I dont think the commissioners actually hand the 5 grand to the company until they are awarded the grant. As you saw each job that is not created they have to pay back 10 grand. What I hate more is our tax payer money from the state is paying 10 grand per job.

the other risk we run is the unnamed business may end up competing with established businesses that are already here. This happened when Blevins Building supply renovated the Pontiac dealership. Don't care what Barr said commissioners should have demanded the name of the business.
