Seems WCC is taking the right steps.

My brother is an instructor (I think that's the right term) there. But I think he only instructs one class a semester. He has full time employment elsewhere. Says his instructor job helps pay for his car.

It's tough to sustain a big conspiracy to steal public funds or private funds - once you go beyond 1 you have a problem, 3 will never keep it secret.

You would need not a financial audit (they already get that every year) but a forensic audit to track the movement of the supplies - then you would discover who is actually stealing supplies versus those who accumulate and hide supplies from the other departments. When you have to move the ink cartridges into the vault you know you have a problem.

It would seem to me that petty cash, student stores, food, and others items like that are the lowest hanging fruit for someone wanting to take something, but those are also the places most susceptible to actual outside theft and shoplifting.

Does WCC have it's own gasoline pumps - that's always a place to monitor.

However, cutting off funding is crazy. If someone stole from the vending machines in the Sherriff's Office or stole bulk food from the High School Cafeteria, you would not cut off their funding.

Badbilly, if you can substantiate those charges, De Cox would be all ears. But I am guessing you are nothing but Blowing hot air

** Dr. Cox has called for an audit of all classes.**

First off the county has a legal obligation to provide funds, they can't just stop funding the college. Next, if you read the article Dr. Cox has called for an of all classes audit. It had to do with bogus classes and reimbursement.

There was one instructor arrested for embezzlement. The story is on Goblueridge.net.

Wilkes Community College in big trouble. I hope they do a complete audit of the entire school including MF.

Their are many in what is called the inner circle that are involve in stealing money and supplies. The county should cut all funds until the complete audit is done. It is bad.
