The article on the Post, one commenter had a valid point. http://www.jeffersonpost.co...os-funeral

This article played right into their hands. Wish reporters would take 30 minutes and do a Google search. They would find this is exactly what they intended. Get the media to cover it so the citizens get up in arms. This is a family of attorneys who hope that the county will deny their permit request. Lawsuit #1. If it's granted, they then hope the citizens come out in anger. As soon as a citizen blocks their path or yanks a burning flag from their hands, Lawsuit #2 because cops didn't protect them.
They are LOVING the fact that the citizens are now clicking on their website. The more vitriol expressed, the more likely they are to show up. Again, a 30 minute search would have told this reporter that they often pull these permits, and even go so far as to reserve a hotel room... but when there is silence, most times they don't bother.

Here's where I found the info to match radio.

West Jefferson Lions Club
June 20 at 9:49pm ·
Friday afternoon the West Jefferson Lions Club will have flags displayed along the town streets. The American flags will have a 24 inch black ribbon attached. If you are along the funeral procession route you are welcome to hold a flag at the roads edge as the funeral procession drives by. The Lions ask only that you please place them back in place after the procession passes.

Hey Jack, let's say the nuts do show up. What do you suggest the local churches should do? Protest the protest? Make an even bigger scene at this soldier's funeral. The Christian church isn't meant to go around getting into altercations with people or protesting. I have heard a lot of people already talking about trying to block off the nuts if they do come, but I'm not sure why you think the local churches should protest the protest. The church's job is to spread the Gospel and to love and help others. I will be the first to admit that we could do a better job at that, but I don't feel that protesting at a funeral is something we should be doing. I am all for having a group of people to try to block the nuts from getting close to the funeral, if that is what you are talking about, but I don't think anyone should make an even bigger scene out of it. I will be surprised if they even come though. If they do they do, and the courts have already said that they have the right to do it, as disgusting as it is.

I heard on the radio that the Lions club will put out the flags in west Jefferson and if you wanted to pay your respect you could hold one beside the road.

Thats exactly what I thought.

There isn't going to be anything to protest.

First lightweight you are speaking up as an individual not one of the bible banging churches. Second where are all these baptist churches you said would join forces and protest the wellsboro baptist cult.

First off, I just looked on the Westboro website. Check it out.
http://www.godhatesfags.com...dridge.pdf
It tells about the service and says "This message ought to be peacefully preached in lawful proximity to the memorial of Cpl. Dillon C. Baldridge Friday, June 23rd" They also have a schedule on their website showing picketing dates, and there is nothing about coming here. I don't think they are even coming. Everyone is freaking out over something that isn't even going to happen
Jack you can call me all the names you want. I don't care. I am a sinner saved by God's grace and mercy. I have done nothing to deserve his love. I already said that I don't agree with the hatred they spew so it seems like me and you feel the same about them. If that means I'm a hypocrite, so be it I guess.

Afic, that's good to know. But I'd hate for all the veterans in the county to get stirred up, that could mean trouble no matter who they are. Know what I mean, hope they don't come.

Lightweight I see I hit a nerve with you. The only group that blocks their hatred toward the fallen military is the motorcycle group. I stand by my original statement that none of the baptist churches will say a word against them nor will they lift a finger to protest. Lightweight you and your gang of baptists are no more than hypocrites.

The Patriot Guard Riders are already in the county I've been told. Like Afic has already said these people know their boundaries and laws all too well. There is a group already planning to help this other group form a wall between the cult members and the family. These people thrive off causing hate. So the group ask for those participating to just stand in silence. No signs are allowed either.

Skittles, most of the Westboro family are very intelligent attorneys. You don't want to start anything with them because they will tie you up in court faster than Bufurt can fire a deputy. That's why they rarely get harassed. Also, they always have children with them. You can't beat up children.

They put lots of protest dates and locations on their website. Often for whatever reason they end up never showing up. There is a motorcycle club that regularly goes to funerals and block them from getting to the people at the funeral. Someone should contact them

I'll also be surprised if anyone from Westboro shows. A few years ago they threatened this in Greensboro and didn't show. If they didn't show there, hard for me to see them rolling into WJ. This is how they try to remain relevant, stir the pot and incite anger.

To desiccate any funeral is disgrace, but to protest a military soldiers death serving his country is just down right asking for a major problem. There are a lot of veterans in this county and if this group thinks this will be ok, I'm afraid they will be mistaken. Hope they don't come!

Also you said no baptist church had condemned this. This story just broke. I just heard about it 10 minutes ago. Maybe you should wait a few a little while before saying stupid stuff like that.

Jack you are wrong. True Christians do not condone the type of hate that those idiots spew. We can believe something is a sin without spewing hate.

Notice none of the baptist churches in the county have offered any criticism or offered to shield the family. Saying nothing is a yes bible thumpers.
