Since he is a highly competent, experienced officer, I would guess his salary was near the high end. According to the papers, he was hired to work on the warrant squad. That is not an entry level position.

Basking, No you did not, you gave your opinion on what it probably will be but You have yet to give a dollar, and yet you were the one who brought salary into the discussion.

Basking, don't forget about the below. Since you know what the starting, average and maximum salary is for a deputy sheriff at CCSO, tell us all what Hopkins salary will be.

Because if the sheriff said anything different, it would look bad on the sheriff, and would be used against him in the lawsuit. It would also give Hippo grounds for a lawsuit too. It's like when you list a previous employer on a job application. It's well known all they can't say anything negative.

Basking, Good catch, I meant average salary.
Pointman, No, a Sheriff fires incompetent deputies. But the Sheriff didn't fire him, and publicly stated that he was a good deputy and hated to loose him.

No Stupid, starting level at Carter county is $26k. Your reading comprehension sucks.

There is at least one lawsuit involving Ashe County Deputies. Williams would be a fool to publicly proclaim Hoppy incompetent.

Pointman, Your opinion is that Hopkins was not a good deputy, however the Sheriff, the only person who can hire or fire a deputy stated otherwise. A larger agency always has more opportunities for advancement and promotion.
Basking, By your own statement, which is an assumption Hopkins is making around 30K at ACSO, if he starts at entry level for CCSO he gets a raise, what if his years of experience gets him bumped to the max which you state is 37K, my limited education says that's a heck of a raise; but you refuse to admit you do not have any idea what his salary will be in TN.

It doesn't matter how many promotions he can get, it doesn't change what the max salary is. Don't get mad at me because you don't understand math.

leo - now you are assuming when you state there will be more chances for advancement and promotion in a larger organization. If those advancements and promotions are based strictly upon seniority perhaps that will be true. But if doing a good job counts for anything, Hoppy likely won't go far. Hoppy does not present himself well.

Basking, You are a regular Sherlock Holmes aren't you, during all of your deductive reasoning did you find what Hopkins starting salary will be in TN, if not then all you have is your opinion and conjecture. Again my point was that with a larger agency one is almost certain to have more opportunities for advancement and promotion.

Clearly you don't know what excel means. More likely, he will coast through until he shoots someone else

What I'm saying is, the carter county information shows what the starting and max salaries are. It also states what average salary is. And the newspaper printed what Ashe salaries are. So it's pretty easy to deduce a close estimate to what he did make and will make.
It's clear that you aren't an investigator

Fair boy I am not your mother, do your own homework. I could really care less if he is shaking door knobs as long as he is over the state line. Find something interesting to entertain me with so you can stroke your ego and thump your chest.

Busking and dog, please post a link to whatever documentation you have that he will be "serving papers." The articles I read said he would be working on the warrant squad. Big difference, and hardly an entry level position.
