If what I am hearing is true James intends to retire soon and recommend Carolyn Gentry as his replacement. If that is true that means a vote for James is a vote Carolyn. I know at least one other person on this forum has heard the same thing.

That being said I cannot confirm that this is true or not.

No the preacher isn't Hollifield, the Hollifield happened a number of years ago. The preacher should be put away as far as I'm concerned.

When I said photo, I should have said on the sex offender site. It took a while for it to be put on it. A bit too long if you ask me.

He's been out for quite a while and lives 550 feet or so from the young girl that he molested. His wife and the adopted children are on the same property with him. She couldn't live without him. I also found it interesting that no photo of him was up until I asked WHY. That man should have never seen the light of day, after molesting the girl for years. Should have sent him up.

So does that mean he gets a shorter sentence?

Larry Dean Hollifield, 55, pled guilty to multiple felony sexual offense charges

Sheriff James Williams who asked that Hollifield serve his sentence in the Ashe County jail rather than state prison.

Williams said after the decision that Hollifield has been serving as a trustee at the jail and that he and the county would benefit by having Hollifield serve his time in Ashe County. He said it would be better for his wife, who has been visiting Hollifield at the jail.
